"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"I see that Kirk Cousins has signed for the Falcons on a four year $180 million deal, wonder who the Vikes QB is going to be now?"

"If you'd been to Missouri, then you would be surprised to see this happen. And it'll quickly get swept under the carpet, if you look who they've arrested."

Muliple people shot at the Chiefs victory parade. Lost for words really. God help America.

"I seriously underestimated the pull of Dan Quinn and his contact book. He's assembled an amazing staff, can't fault a single decision"

Interestingly I see that Mahomes' dad also named Patrick Mahomes played as a major league pitcher for my team the Minnesota Twins and to be fair he couldn't have been up to much as I don't remember him at all. Anyway well played the Chiefs... Again.

"In all fairness, not too many other sides passed on Mahomes specifically. The Bears had the #2 pick that year - and, as you say, hilariously opted for Trubisky as the top QB in the draft. Most of the top analysts were saying the two shoo-ins at QB were Mahomes and Deshaun Watson - and the Jets passed on both! Most other sides who picked before us that year didn't want a QB, or had an expensive incumbent. We had Christian Hackenberg. Say no more. It was really the Jets and Bears who fucked up massively. There's a surprise (with both)! But you're right about the draft being a bit of a lottery. Some of the pre-draft analysis of Mahomes and others now reads badly!"

"At least the one crumb of comfort is that also either other teams passed him over (CMC only went 8th as well that year) and you didn't draft another QB. Imagine being the GM that took Mitch Trubisky instead of Patrick Mahomes... It just proves how much of a lottery the draft really is, and the power of hindsight."

Spot on. Mahomes is absolutely superb. You'd have to be mad to have passed on him... ;-)

"Yup- that's it isn't it. They have an absolute bang average set of skill players, aside from Kelce who to be fair is absolutely brilliant. Pacheco MVS and the rest are decent but you wouldn't say anything special at all. It was clear on several plays there was just no-one open at all, but Mahomes just put the team on hi back and won it almost single handedly. What a player."

"Yeah, we had Hardman at the Jets before he went back to Kansas. But, in all fairness to our clueless lot, he only caught one pass in five games before we traded him. He's a back-up player - it's just that Mahomes can make less-than-average receivers look very good. I'm pleased for him. But it just happened to be him. With Mahomes throwing, it could be anybody providing they get open."

"Didn't the Jets also discard the bloke who caught the touchdown? Mahomes is extraordinary. You'd ever say they were underdogs, but the 49ers are stacked everywhere (FIVE all pros on offense?) so they were probably a bit outmanned yet he came through again. Credit to Andy Reid as well for being so inventive to get them up and down the field."

Best team in the league won it again. They're getting boringly good. Mahomes is an absolutely superb QB and Reid is such a consistently good play-caller. This is the regular reminder that the New York Jets passed on Pat Mahomes in the draft. We'd have ruined him anyway!

Game was over with the missed after point kick. Bloke has been absolutely useless in every single moment that mattered all season.

Wow. And that's why he's the best. Brutal for the 49ers

Fucking hell that was some trick play. The Niners are really grinding the Chiefs defence and playing brilliantly on defence.
