"RIP David McCallum who played Illya Kuryakin in the 1960s spy show 'The Man From Uncle'. For those of us of a certain age ""Uncle"" was a stylish show of the James Bond type. The first season was the best it became very 'campy' afterwards. The shows opening theme for the first season remains one of my favorites from that era. Sapphire and Steel was pretty good too."

Not watched NCIS but MFU was massive when I was a kid Was reading he took the forensics so seriously on NCIS that he attended conferences and they were going to make him a consultant on the show. Supposedly got more fan mail at MGM than Elvis and reportedly left Britain for the US as he thought the country was becoming WORRYINGLY LEFT WING. RIP

"Sorry to hear this. His work was very much in my wheelhouse growing up. I've also enjoyed NCIS over recent years. A pleasant, easy watch. RIP David."

"Never watched Uncle but obviously aware of it… McCullam was in loads of good 60s films, often war films which were on all the time in the 70s and 80s and defined my childhood…Mosquito Squadron, The Great Escape etc. To be honest I was surprised he was still with us but RIP."

Loved him as a kid. Anyone else feel like they're in a death queue and you're getting nearer and nearer to the front? What I'd give to live my life again with the knowledge and experience I have now.
