Villa have improved under Emery there is no doubt about that. Its just frustrating that we don't have a go until we go 2 down. Why wasn't Kudus brought on at the start of the 2nd half? It will be interesting to see how they get on against AZ tonight?

"Manuel - I'm impressed that you managed to watch his video, I try but he waffles and it goes off.. I'll take a look. RM10 why is it an Antonio/Kudus situation? I really don't think he's suited to playing the Antonio role, even if he is it will still leave us unbalanced with too many central midfielders and no pace or ball carrying in the middle."

"Mark Carlaw from The West Ham Way, he's usually the easily pleased type and a bit mincey, but he did a 12 min vid yesterday about how we typically blew it on Sunday and how we always blow the big games in the league to really progress and put down a marker and that we are lacking in character etc and just cannot get the job done, which is a big worry moving forward. I would rarely get to the end of one of his vids, but he really nails it and is worth a watch."

"They were all poor except perhaps Bowen, it’s the kudus Antonio situation that Moyes has to sort out."

"I've defended Moyes of late but can't disagree with the criticism of him. Really poor performance again from us, no real positives to take from it."

"I honestly don't know mate, I'd sack him yesterday but I agree, it's not going to happen. Without wanting to repeat myself AGAIN, but it was like a morgue over there against Sheff Utd, with everything that has happened and given our jammy results to put us up there in the league, the place should be jumping, but it was dull. Really, really fucking dull. Still, he seems to have majority backing from our fans, a lot of my pals are for him, so it's more of this shit served up."

"ED - It's hard to disagree with any of that and you make a sound argument. So the only answer is to sack Moyes, but that's not happening anytime soon, so then what?? I had a thought today that I hope Everton beat us on Sunday to turn up some heat on this cսnt. Thing is, we have I think, 5 winnable games now, so he's bound to keep us ticking over, plus we will win our EL group against a load of shit, I ain't even gonna watching on Thursday. Sunday was a very big wake up call and reality check, we know our place now."

I've spent the majority of the games this season wishing we were playing like the other team. You've got to be a bit of a cuckold to enjoy watching us get battered every week by the other team.

"factory seconds 2:22 Tue Oct 24 That's exactly where I've been at this season. Let's be real, the plaudits (and there have been far too fucking many) have come off the back of the Chelsea & Brighton results, but I'm just not someone who can come away from those games and feel great about the team going forward. If we play those games in that way another 10 times, we lose 8 of them. I'm sorry to repeat myself, as I know it drives some people up the wall, but it fucking baffles me how our fans, West Ham fans, can watch the shit we serve up every week and back this manager. We're down there with the worst footballing teams in the whole league, with a squad littered with proper internationals worth nearly half a billion quid. It's an absolute chore watching us, even when we win, excruciatingly shit football. Villa, who have not that long been back in the Prem, are light years ahead of us, and look how shit they were around about a year ago. That could be us, if we get a proper manager in."

Unbelievable the lengths Moyes will go to to keep Soucek in the side. Playing 4 cms with one going out wide.

"Many said the Newcastle/Villa games would tell us a lot about where we are right now, after one point from six now we know. Hope we have a good run in the cups, as it's looking like a mid table-ish league campaign."

"It's been odd watching us this season. We've played just as incoherently and without threat plenty of times this season, then a ball into a channel has found mickey or bowen and suddenly we're a goal up. Yesterday felt like everything arrived at its logical conclusion given the balance of play, something we've been largely immune to. I'm not sure what our ceiling is playing this way but I think we're in that 9th-14th bracket. If we have aspirations beyond that then it will take an upgrade in manager."

Charoo - Those Soucek stats are unbelievable I actually can't believe he touched the ball in double figures.

"I don't blame Antonio as much as some for yesterday's defeat or other team performances. That’s down to only Moyes. We've found wins from not playing well and getting lucky. Our best games have been when we have surprised the opposition by coming out strongly at the start get a lead and hang on.Villa have dominated in all their wins. Lost heavily when the haven't. Many have been saying we can't sustain Moyesball. It's not hard to see it pan out. Mubama and the youth including Coventry must be livid that they can't get any game time. After some had a better pre season than the 1st team.Month after month there is no proactive plan by Moyes. Emerson is now banned and no alternative. People have been saying he's been our 2nd best player after Bowen, well he isn't as he's had to commit 5 fouls to get booked,he's not a great defender,he's OK but no worldie."

"Soucek vs Villa 67 mins 10 passes - 8 completions 1 offside 1 dispossession when not even dribbling 1 bad control 0 tackles 0 blocks 0 interceptions 0 clearances 2 shots 0 goals 1 Ariel battle won. I‚Äôve always been Tomas is a good guy and not his fault he keeps getting played but I‚Äôm done with that. He‚Äôs a lazy, slow fucking cart horse and I want him out the club. 1 fucking header, 10 passes and nothing else in 67 mins - what is the point of him? Seriously - jokes aside how is that cսnt an actual footballer? Him and Antonio is like playing with 9 men - unless we refresh the manager, get a new striker and CM in Jan, this season will bore on to a 12th-14th finish with loads of dour negative football. Summer needs a proper rebuild and Moyes is not the man to do it."

"Watkins is a different level to Antonio, but that's not the main reason we lost yesterday. The main reason, as pointed out by many others, was in the dugout."

"onsideman 1:57 Mon Oct 23 That's what I thought watching the game yesterday. The difference between the 2 sides was playing with a striker vs playing with Antonio. All but the 4th goal were created more or less by Watkins whereas Antonio had maybe one decent pass all game. If there's no threat from the striker, it's awfully difficult to stretch a defence."

"Fraser makes the same point even I can see. Playing Kudus wide left like Moyes has done with Fornals, Paqueta and Benrahma. None of these players had or have a history of playing that position. Kudus might adapt but has mostly played central or wide right I believe ? Now Moyes has form all his career for this. Didn’t he convert Cahill to a kind of striker? Then Arnautovic? Those changes worked and he perhaps believes he’s a genius and does it too often ? Although it’s more probably about loyalty to Soucek? I take the point that Moyes is a big issue but still maintain that Soucek and Antonio are too technically inept to start league games and we need improvements to Coufal, the Zouma/Aguerd partnership and a proper wide left player and top of the list a proper mobile striker that can shoot straight. Steidten is our only hope. It will almost certainly mean the end of Moyes before we progress. The conflict of interest is the Europa. We want to progress but doing so will keep Moyes in place ?"

The Basque Dracula is so much smarter than our Wee Davey Moyes. He sold him Danny “ hair transplant” Ings and then beat us 4-1 with a team he inherited from Stevie Gerard. He’s also getting a tune out of Ollie Watkins while our own Brentford boy can’t get a game. Never has the gulf in two managers seemed so wide.
