How far off are we?

"So into the quarterfinals of the first cup competition as well as doing well in our Europa group. It would appear that we are a very good Cup team. However we are inconsistent in the league. Looking at our squad there are some obvious weak links. So my question is how far off are we from competing for the top 4 spot? Personally I think We need to Keep Paqueta for his link up play, the tippy tappy flash stuff needs to be reigned in a bit but he appears to be enjoying his football, maybe Moyes has told him to go out and express yourself and he’s running with it. However, looks like he’ll be off for either suspension or a move to City, so cant count on him being available. Ward Prowse could step up of course he’s a ball player, not sure if he would be a replacement for Paqueta though. So assuming he is off, who do we get as his replacement? Looks like we are on to something with Bowen up front attacking their back line freeing up the space for Kudus is promising. The left flank needs a bit of real quality, someone with speed. I like the new Greek kid at the back and I like Emerson. Aguerd I’m still out on and Zouma is slow. Coufal continues to surprise and Alvarez is a battler, like his game. Like both our keepers but I see why Areola is preferred. Soucek, Benrahma and Ings need to go, who else?"

"We will never be top four with Moyes and Sullivan at the helm. In fact it would be madness to allow moyes to play any part in the next transfer window, he has already shown what he can do with £460m!!"

"At left back Emerson is good enough, but needs an understudy/alternative - not Cresswell, Aguerd, Ogbonna, Stavros and Zouma are good enough. Coufal is not good enough, but would make a good no 2 to a proper right back. Benrahma is not a left winger in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-2-1, he provides almost zero cover for our left back and gives the ball away too much. Paqueta is either a No 10 or a No 8, but only if he has the right pkayers around him. Soucek is a utility player, worth keeping and using as he can fit in but rarely adds to the sum of the whole. JWP is almost perfect. Alvarez will improve but has been superb so far in the No 8 position. Bowen is almost perfect. Antonio needs somebody like Ivan Toney to compete and take over from him, maybe Kudus could be that player."

"We’re 3 quality players for our weakest positions and an attack minded, tactically aware manager off of the top 4. We’re 8 or 9 exceptional players and a world class manager away from being champions."

How far are we off the top 4? Absolutely miles off. One decent result against Arsenal reserves doesn’t change that.

I'm fearing Kudus is going to get fed up with the tactics soon and we will have another disgruntled player
