"Yes, we are roughly where we should be based on spending. Why then do we play the kind of ultra defensive hoofball that you'd expect from one of those clubs who have no spending power and are only trying to desperately avoid relegation? Given our resources it should be a given that we finish about 7th-10th, no matter what the style of football, so why put up with what even Moyes supporters will agree is rarely enjoyable to watch."

Nagel You are correct re Bournemouth. The figures I quoted had ignored the net income in the Championship. So I agree they should be below us in Net Spending meaning we are the 8th biggest spenders and currently 9th in the table. I do not think that really invalidates the point I was trying to make. Apart from Chelsea (Ha ha ha) All the clubs that spent more are above us in the league at the moment.

"I don't give a fuck if Bournemouth have more of a net spend and are shitter than us, or if Brighton have less of a net spend and are miles better than us. Just concentrate on the fact that West Ham have given a manager the best part of half a billion pound to spend on a squad, to become Stoke from 2010. It's fucking embarrassing, our main attacking threat is lumping the ball into the box hoping one of our heading specialists get on the end of it. It's shitcunt football, that can be done on a fucking shoestring. Might as well cash in on Paqueta, and replace him with the tallest current professional footballer who's not bothered about touching the ball with his feet. If you enjoy watching that shit, bully for you, but don't try to fucking justify it by saying Bournemouth have a bigger net spend. We are a shithouse boring cսnt football team, it can't be denied, just be like that fucking simpleton joyo and admit you enjoy being a shithouse boring cսnt football. Each to their own."

"Re Bournemouth it must be the other way round and you're quoting figures that ignore their 2 years in the Championship. When they got relegated 3 or 4 years ago they sold Wilson, Ramsgate and Ake for about £90m and bought fuck all. And the following year they sold Danjuma for £20m+ and spent about half that on players, so those Championship years saw about £100m net profit on transfers."

"Nagel First off I am not trying to make any attempt to make a case for Moyes either going or staying. On that subject, I am quite agnostic. Didn't want him in the first place. Think he has done really well to improve us from where we were when he arrived, but not sure he can take us much further. But to keep calling for him to go is a wasted emotion, as he is here to the summer at least. I get a bit fed up with posts that constantly analyse our shortcomings in matches through a distorted lens that is more about justifying their hatred of Moyes rather than a more considered view of the facts. Okay, football is not just about facts and statistics. Opinions matter and everybody has one. I always try to support mine with some evidence rather than pure invective. Thus my post was to suggest we are mid-table because we are mid-table spenders. Unfortunately, it is the way of modern football (IMO of course) Also IMO our general play in all games is not as bad as the Moyes detractors claim, although I thought we were really poor against Burnley (and so did Moyes). But I got great pleasure from the win. As for the figure for Bournemouth's net spend I think the discrepancy is that some tables include what Bournemouth spent in during two years in the Championship and others don't. The figures I quoted included what they spent in the Championship"

The 450 million is probably what we have spent on players over the past 5 years but some neglect to say that we have also banked around 200 million from sales thus why we have a net spend of 248 million during that period.

I saw the £450m figure quoted repeatedly by Vexed. I guess that was a mistake to take any notice of what he says.

"easthammer 5:25 Mon Nov 27 Firstly, that info is wrong on Bournemouth. They've spent nowhere near what we have in the last 5 years. We're probably about 8th. More importantly, when people talk about what money Moyes has wasted, it's not only about net spend, it's about his failure to incorporate quality players in his team, resulting in the huge losses we saw from the sales of Haller, Anderson, Scamacca and Vlasic. Those fuckups resulted in our net spend being a lot more than it should have been. Despite the European excursions, this era is going to go down as one of wasted opportunities, not to mention the dull and dreary football on offer."

"Neither of those two penalty shouts were penalties. the first he clearly ran at Coufal and dive you could see the slight change of direction. The actual penalty that was given was a pure dive with minimal contact. The Burnley player is aspiring to be in the Kane, Son, Salah class of cheats."

AFC Bournemouth - £286.4m. West Han Utd -£248.1

In his second tenure its 20 season 19 won 5 20-21 38 won 19 21-22 38 won 16 22-23 38 won 11 23-24 13 won 6 147 played won 57 Ratio 38.8 % I admit the first tenure was gruesome stuff but I don't think we're really talking about that.

Not quite correct BRANDED. I worked it out from actual games played under Moyes management. In season 2017/18 Moyes managed only 27 games of which 8 were wins. - 29.6% win %age. He returned 29/12/19 for 19 games of which he won only 5 - for a low win %age of just 26.3%. 2020/21 season 19 wins - 50% win %age 2021/2022 season 16 wins - 42.1% win %age 2022/23 season 11 wins - 28.9% win %age. 2023/2 season 6 wins -from 13 games - 46.15% win %age. Overall PL win %age is 34.68% with 60 wins from 173 games. Not very good really having spent £450million on players...

Forget that Manuel. I see now that it says it's just 35 games as you say. I've searched elsewhere for more detailed stats but can't easily find them so don't really care.
