"Isn't it time to have these minnows qualify in a minnows league, rather than make top players play even more football?"

"He's just carrying on a club tradition started by Jimmy Greaves, Brian Dear, Clyde Best and Bobby Moore."

"West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal and two other players have been sent home from the Czech Republic camp. It follows reports Coufal, Jakub Brabec and Jan Kuchta were pictured in a nightclub prior to a home Euro 2024 qualifier against Moldova on Monday. The Czech Football Association said the players had ""fundamentally violated the internal rules of the national team on Saturday night"". It added: ""They have left the national team camp with immediate effect."""

Obviously beating Gilbraltar isn’t a big deal despite the amount of goals they scored but it does amuse me that the English bookies have made England favourites for next summer’s Euros. England are quite rightly one of the favourites but France have a squad full of cracking players and are still the team to beat in Europe.

Maybe put england in there as well so long as southgate is in charge. The dogshit gibraltans were only recently beaten 1-0 by Malta who we struggled to beat.

If you are ranked in the top section of world/euro football then you have to play a second/third string against these 'countries'. The crowd get to see other players get their chance and those players maybe get a chance to represent their country they wouldn't usually get. A bit of a leveller all round even though it will no where near enough.

Let’s be honest here. Gibraltar is not really a country. It’s been a convenient military base giving access to the Mediterranean for centuries and British…

"So the solution is to make the smaller teams play more games, in a saturated calendar?"

"ALF's 100% Not Who are we to dicatate to a country whether or not their small or big. If they're in Europe then they qualify for the rounds. Once you get through then yes, rank them if you really want to (I actually think that's crap too btw, just rotten luck if you have 4 great teams drawn in the same group). Well played France for sticking out a top team to totally bash them up by the way."

"Some have been peddling these types of ''ideas'' out for decades now, of course usually after a big score like this. I get it to a point, but it's easier said than done creating different formats, the calendar is full as it is. Leave it as it is, which no doubt it will be, it's up to the smaller nations to improve. Uruguay only has a population of 5 million and they have done alright and won more world cups than England, and have produced some great players."

"Yeah I agree. Let’s give up the fantasy of a small club beating a big club, in fact let’s give up on football and create a super league…."

I've been saying for years that the smaller countries and territories should be invited to participate in a 'small nations' tournament rather than always being spanked in these pointless virtually forgone conclusion matches.

You're basically asking the suits to give up their entitlement/parasitic jollies. Not. A. Fucking. Chance.

"They really need to get a pre qualifying tournament going, for the tiny nation and territory sides like Gibraltar, San Morino, Lichenstein etc, they battle it out in 2 or 3 groups and the top side in each group then goes into the WC/Euro Qualifiers. Might also help to reduce these tedious international breaks as well."
