The Saudi takeover of the Geordies should never have gone through. How the premier league said it wasn't the state buying them is absolutely ludicrous. And given their human rights abuses it makes it even worse .

Sydney_Iron 10:23 Wed Nov 22 Financial impropriety between two Clubs that had a certain someone in common at the time? Someone with a history of using agents inappropriately and against all the rules? Can't put my finger on it....

"Fuck me, dramas everywhere, but FFS it took a while for this to be investigated. https://www.football365.com/news/tottenham-risk-point-deduction-fa-review-serious-breach-agent-rules-7-5m-defoe-transfer According to reports, the FA are prepared to ‘review evidence of potentially serious breaches of agent rules’ when Tottenham signed Jermain Defoe in 2008. A detailed report from The Times claims ‘The FA has said it is prepared to review evidence of potentially serious breaches of agent rules in a transfer involving Tottenham, Portsmouth and Defoe’. The former England international returned to Spurs during the January transfer window in 2008 after the London outfit paid around £7.5m to buy him back from Portsmouth. An investigation from The Times has discovered that Spurs, Portsmouth and Defoe ‘all dealt with an unlicensed agent during the negotiations’."

"And just look at the (potential) talent available to Newcastle in January............... Other high-profile former Premier League players currently at PIF-owned clubs include Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr), Roberto Firmino (Al-Ahli), Sadio Mane (Al-Nassr) and Riyad Mahrez (Al-Ahli). But it is a potential January move for 26-year-old Neves - who joined Al-Hilal for £47m in June - which could help the Magpies fill the midfield gap created by Sandro Tonali's 10-month ban for breaching betting rules."
