twoleftfeet 12:58 Tue Jan 23 Agree with you about Brighton... I watched last nights drivel and fell asleep for about 20 mins of the first half. Most exciting thing all game was the spat between Cunha and Gilmour (who btw clearly reckons himself big time and needs to be taken down a peg or two... I will enjoy watching that when it happens).

"NS you came dangerously close to the old and disgusting lie that 'they even themselves out over the season'. I never wanted VAR but as they have it and there's no turning back it's time the officials were miked up. A new rule could be introduced whereby a player gets a yellow for swearing during a VAR decision that's being conducted and broadcast. Referees are far too protected. It's the Prem, not the fucking magic circle."

First half was pretty forgettable but enjoyed the second half... fuck all between the teams but felt we actually played the better football... especially when Johnson came on... end of the day the decisions went against us.... in a big way... maybe we have had a few go for us during the season so lets dust ourselves down ... it was still a point away from home without a lot of our big hitters... hardly a disaster

"I said this on another thread, but its pretty tragic the only real positive things people saw from Sunday's game are 2 bang out of form players, playing out of position having an average game. We were fucking awful."

Disappointing. Yes crap refereeing. I thought it was interesting we were playing 4-4-2. Ings was not as bad as I thought he would be. Johnson came on as a defensive midfielder and did quite well taking the ball forward.

"the problem yesterday is that with two mins of injury time to go we found ourselves defending deep in our own half rather than taking the ball into the corner, which we had ample opportunity to do. You can say the award of their pen was as harsh as the decision not to award us one moments later, but again we should have seen that out, no excuses. Two more points dropped that we may well point back to and say 'if only'"

Some of you wank yourself silly over the way Brighton play but fuck me they are a hard watch. I’ll stick to our style.

"I only watched brief highlights as I was out. I don’t think I have seen a referee get so much wrong. How he missed the red for Brewster I can’t fathom. Then he “evens it out” by giving two soft yellows to Coufal. Aerola gives away a pen by getting smashed in the face. If the Bowen incident was isolated, I might have given the benefit of the doubt and said perhaps Bowen had his arm around the defender. But for all those decisions to go against us? Something definitely not right there. Still, like the Bristol City games, I’m not going to cry like a bitch. We were masters of our own downfall. We shouldn’t even have given the referee the opportunity to fuck us over."

I think yesterdays ref should be reminded that this is what the rules state: A tackle from behind which endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Acts of serious foul play are punishable by a red card. A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Even relegation fodder like this have learned to exploit Moyes‚Äôs fixation with Soucek. This manager is a cսnt; things are not going to get any better until they get a lot worse.

"Yes a team in 6th should be beating Bristol city and sheff utd, it’s not as if they were any good aswell! Disappointed. Passing atrocious, I have no confidence with any of our CBs aswell, big end of season sort out ,bigger than I thought. Will be worse with paq and kudas in the limelight."

A couple of poor decisions shouldn’t mask what was another dog shit performance. You’d be hard pressed to find a worse PL in possession at the moment.

"Gaffer, you are an idiot. We won’t finish bottom half. In my opinion referees need to wear microphones so we can hear their thought processes and what they say to the people in the VAR box. Salisbury is out of his depth."

"Although the officiating was crap I believe the biggest crime yesterday is that we cannot even match Sheffield United for possession, this lack of possession will eventually find us out and we will be bottom half."

"What's even worse is that managers get fined for calling out incompetent officiating in interviews so the referees etc get off scot free. That can't be right, they should take criticism like everyone else does. I assume clubs put in an Officials marking sheet but seems to make no difference."

"Manuel 6:25 Mon Jan 22 Agree with that entirely. The woeful officiating shouldn't cloud the main issue. We couldn't find our own men with simple passes, had 35% possession, were out-passed, out-run, out-tackled and conceded more shots to the team rock borrom of the league who, prior to that game, were averaging a tally that would've seen them end the season on 17 points"

"fraser 7:11 Indeed, and the claim of him missing the ball seems like utter clutching at straws to explain it away. That situation happens week in week out. It's not like he even went through him or cleaned him out in real time, let alone on replay when it was completely obvious their player not only impeded him but elbowed him in the face. It may have been tough for the ref in real time, but how on earth can the replay officials not spot that? Or did they just not look? Because anyone who actually does look at that properly can only come to one conclusion. That it's a foul on Areola."

Said to someone today that giving BREWSTER a yellow was possibly even a worse decision than the two penalty nonsense decisions. If you cant see that two footed launch as a red from 5 yds away then you might as well give it away. How is Howard Webb still in a job? Mike Dean and Lee Mason gone (both also binned from VAR because they cant even get things right watching 6 times on tv) and still he has managed to make the standard of refereeing worse. Like Moyes said I think most have just given up on seeing any level of basic competence
