Out of season I know - but Essex have signed Dean Elgar - 36 y/o Saffa opener to a three year contract subsequent to ANC's retirement. Solid performer but a bit long in the tooth ?

Probably more money in county cricket than playing Tests for S Africa. Not sure a 36yo Saffa taking a young Essex lads spot does much for England though
