"He lived out in Suffolk between Clare and Long Melton. I always thought ""Judy Teen"" was a superb song too, prior to Come Up And See Me. CUASM was lifted to legendary status by that glorious guitar solo, played by Jim Cregan, who went on to worldwide fame playing alongside Rod Stewart and many others too. Steve said that originally he had the solo mapped out as a sax solo, but Jim was sat in the background quietly working it through on acoustic guitar, and once Steve heard it he knew that was 'it'. RIP Stevo. This is getting like 2016 isn't it... the year is hardly out of nappies and we've already lost so many good people, including Steve Wright, Dave Myers and Steve Harley. Someone once said ""You don't really die suddenly... it's just that, as time goes by, people who were once an important part of your life start falling off the map. And every time you lose someone, a piece of your own life dies with them."" Sorry fellas - a bit heavy for this early in the day, I know..."

Very sad but I doubt many of us will leave a legacy like Steve's. His headstone should read 'wrote the greatest pop song of all time'. RIP

I saw him and the rebel play the carnival in Southwark park a decade or so back and they was still pretty good Exactly why I was over in that neck of the woods escapes me however i seem to recall it was to do with a Treacle as they say over Millwall way.

Very sad news. He was a huge part of my youth and a big influence on my music taste. I turned 70 last week and to lose Steve Harley aged only 73 is a big leveler. His album 'Face to face' one if the best ever. RIP Steve.
