Transfer Deadline Day | Summer 2024

Who do you think will leave? Anyone to come in?
Zouma looks gone. Cornet likely.
Aguerd and Ings probably need to be gone if we're to go big on another striker. Surely if Zouma and Aguerd are off we need a 4th choice CB.
Soler and Duran the most talked about and probably the 'dream'. Chelsea firesale to take place?
Anyway...here we go! Don't go to bed! DG (RIP)

I'd be pissed off if we signed a Chelsea player on loan and played him ahead of the expensive signings we've made one of which needs minutes to get used to the league, especially one who isn't that good in Chalobah. If a permanent signing then yes I agree.
But we haven't spent £65 million not to play them.

Love this '4th choice' nonsense.
The pecking order is decided by form. If Chalobah had come in and been better than the others, he'd swiftly be first choice. It's very 'little West Ham' to have only one or two first-team worthy players in every position and everyone else is 'backup'.
We're gonig for competition...we want 3 or 4 'first choice' CBs so we can rotate, have competition within the squad, cover loss of form, etc.

Aguerd wanted to leave for a while apparently... Chalobah wouldn't have come to play reserve in my opinion. Plus fuck helping those cunts out.
This Egan has been a championship level player apart from a short stint in Premier league with Sheff Utd and had a bad injury..
A few fans that watch a fair amount of our kids say Casey isn't ready though..
Maybe just keep our powder dry till January and put the funds towards a better option then.

Aguerd must of thrown his toys out the pram and forced a move leaving us with potential to be exposed
Would have thought we would have gone for Chalobah on loan though?

If it's a cheap one year deal and he is fit it's probably a no brainer at this time in the window.
An injury or two who from the starters would leave us exposed.

Trundle,
Yet of the 3 free options, hummels and matip, he is the youngest.
I reckon I might have seen him actually play a bit more than you and know bit more abour him.
but if crocked the option won't materialise and the debate will become pointless
I'd probably take him over those 3 if you had a gun to my head.
But I had hope the club wouldn't be in this position having to scrap around trying to find freebies after the transfer window closes. It doesn't seem very well planned out at all.

Old? Coming back from a massive injury?
You irish can defend him all you like, but Egan is scraping right at the bottom of the barrel.

Fair point, I did see that. It was more others who were writing him off because he was ex sheff utd. He was a brilliant reader of a game.
And if fit he could be like a Dawson signing. But he may be crocked.
We will know more after tonight's friendly.

Pretty ignorant calling Egan a plodder.
Let's see if he is over the injury first and actually signs.
If so, I would have no doubts about him being able to step up as a starter.
Was just a throwaway line, fella. Read back what I said about him earlier today and the ''4th choice'' nonsense .I agree with you, if it all goes well he could be in the side, let's face the Greek is a joke more often than not and we haven't seen Todibo yet.

Russ from the WHN, who watches a lot of our youth games and seems to know his onions, is of the opinion that Casey isn't ready yet to be part of the first team squad. Just saying. Regardless, just when you think these awful fucking intl breaks can't get any worse the only news all week has been about some ex Sheff Utd plodder maybe coming in for the season. Tragic stuff.

Surely Casey is the better option. WTF did we not get Greaves!!??
Because we bought Killman and Todibo..

Don't know anything about Egan other than that he is a Sheffield United cast off... don't need to know anything else.

I thought Casey was left footed, may be wrong

Doesn’t Casey play as a right sided CB? Isn’t it Mayers on the left for the u21s? And he is 17 or something?
I read that Egan was on £15k a week. That’s nothing for a 4th choice.

Egan would be a very uninspiring signing even as a fourth choice centre back.
Would rather wait till January, it's only 3 months
Agreed. Surely we haven't sunk so low under 'Loser Lop' and 'Guru Tim' as to be signing Sheffield United cast offs on freebies.

Well he clearly has his first 3 defenders already in. Going into the free agent market is just to get a 4th choice option incase we need cover after losing Aguerd on deadline day.
Egan hasnt played in donkeys, by the time he is up to speed wont be far off January anyway. Just dont get bringing in a left footed CB as cover when thats exactly what Casey is

If Egan is over the injury, he would be a very capable addition

What is all this ''4th choice'' bollocks I keep reading about?? Egan is a capable defender, old school, if the Greek continues to drop clangers like a fucking schoolboy and the frog doesn't get up to speed then Egan will be playing instead. Simples.
I would have loved to have seen Hummels come in just to have a great player like that around the place, but reading between the lines Roma have told him he'll be starting for them. Shame.

Ohhhhh my first post (I think).
