"...before the end of the season? Is there a fixed standard set of rules that will be timely followed, or is there a whole bunch of ""Well, depends..."" based on who it is and who else is impacted?"

Didn’t Gretna win the Scottish cup and the owner die and they vanished off the face of the earth?

"I think at least one club has gone properly bust, in the sense that they were unable to fulfill their fixtures (Accrington Stanley - the original - springs to mind, but I'm not 100% sure it was them) Can't be arsed to find out what happened to the points they had won and lost. The fairest thing would have been to expunge their record for that season, but anyone who had done the double over them might be a bit miffed"

"Depends how you define bankrupt/insolvent, but if a Premier League club enters Administration, it's a fixed 9 point deduction (first offence). As applied to Portsmouth in 2010."
