"Reminds me of Defoe with his ability to score goals, this is one player that needs to be loaned out to play games for a League One side this season, it didn't harm Defoe"

I hear that and counter it by saying he produced it when it absolutely mattered and 3 valuable points in the bag at the time. Would be very weird to think he's of no use at all based purely on terrible training after that immediate impact on the 1st team in the Championship in a game that couldn't be more competitive. And it also jars with the immediate impact and selections for his National Team making 4 appearances. Maybe Corboran sussed him out and thought he's useless but I've feeling he'll prove him wrong in the long run.

But the other side of that - and I really have no idea - is that the manager who saw him train every day just didn't think he could cut it for them.

"Well clearly it was the wrong manager for him to believe in his ability to either supply or score goals but considering they struggled to score many goals in the business end of the season in the last 6 matches or so and never used him points to him missing a trick to try him more than he did. As I say, on his 30 mins debut in a fierce local Derby and he effectively makes the goal with his smart play to win in a 1 goal game suggests he should have used him more, not the opposite and faze him out altogether after just 3 appearances - 2 sub appearances really as 1 game was just for 1 minute.. Hopefully send him to another Team in a similar position to get promoted just as long as we're convinced this time a manager wanting him wants to actually play him. I reckon he could make the grade in the Championship and not League One."

It was a mistake sending him to West Brom unless there was a commitment to play him In hindsight a League 1 team or a lower Championship team whose need was more desperate would have been better. We brought him back late but he could only play for the youth teams. Need to assess him and likely he should go out again with more thought as to where.

"Their manager was a div, put simply. Didn't recognise and appreciate his quality and barely used him. I say that because on his debut appearance coming off the bench having barely been there, instantly made a decent impact for his new team mates by being heavily involved in the build up to West Broms 1-0 late winner against local rivals Birmingham City... https://youtu.be/Rfsjd4FhWvE?si=U2GdxJmNT2iuXBY7 Whether it's making his mark in such a debut Brum Derby, or scoring against Denmark for Northern Irelands Senior's before cruelly being ruled out, or playing a significant part in our Youth Cup double culminating in us smashing Arsenal at the Emirates in FA Cup Final, or even last night's excellent contribution for his senior National Team, he's definitely got it. Just keep persevering Marshall then hopefully you make the breakthrough for our Senior Team 1 day an all."

Got to wonder what went wrong at West Brom.

"Im a big fan of Marshalls from everything I've seen of him since he 1st arrived at West Ham and have watched intently since then. Really hope he can translate all his early work in to the senior ranks 1 day at WHU because if he does, we'd have 1 hell of an exciting Forward on our hands."

2-0 up with two goals from young Liverpool right back Conor Bradley. Marshall has an assist. Bradley spent a season on loan at League One Bolton. Played nearly every game and won the EFL Trophy. Last season he played in and won the EFL Cup final with Liverpool. Marshall needs to be playing regularly for someone.
