Lovely bloke. Met him many times at the old Cat and Fiddle pub in Laurel Canyon in the 80s.

Saw him at Billy Walker’s Uppercut Club 1967 with Mick Taylor. A massive influence on the english blues scene.

"Another musical giant gone. You'd have needed to be around in the 60s to understand the influence and importance of men like Mayall, Korner, Davies, Barber. One of the real challenges of growing old is watching all these heroes pass on. The list grows ever longer."

"Came late to his music, but, obviously, not to his influence. Saw an interview with him a few years back where he was just so ""matter-of-fact"" about all the talent influenced by him and how he just moved it on when he wanted to try something different. RIP indeed."

"All my teenage musical heroes are going one by one. Saw John mayall with all his various lineups so many times. Truly the Godfather of British Blues. A Truly a British musical Icon. Could make the point that without him there may have been no Fleetwood Mac , Cream, Graham Bond Organisation and Blind Faith. No Mick Taylor to take over after thd death of Brian Jones for the Stones. R.I.P Legend that leaves a phenominal legacy."
