Horrible way to go .my brother was with his mate waiting for a train at mile end in the mid 80s . When an announcement came across the tannoy about someone throwing themselves under a train at Stepney green station. Both said selfish see you next Tuesday. Not realising it' was my brothers mates dad that was the one under the train . Nobody's immune from bad mental health issues . RIP THORPEY .

"Zeb - that’s a shocker. And yes, I think a lot of people would look - it’s a normal (I think) reaction."

"There was a woman who jumped out of one of the bedrooms at the Park Plaza near Waterloo. I walked past it a few hours after it happened. Even though they spent a long time cleaning up, the bloodstain was visible for a few months.. One of my old colleagues jumped off a car park roof recently too. Grim stuff."

Years ago a friend of mine said he was walking along the pavement & heard a massive crash on the road & turned around to see a head roll towards him and settle in the gutter a few feet away Spoiler - Bloke was dead

"A woman at work was on her lunch break and very, very narrowly missed being squashed by someone who jumped off the multi storey car park just up the road, he landed on the footway so she was lucky. Story I heard was that she held the blokes hand as he didn’t die immediately. About 10 years later a colleague of mine in the same office, his Son jumped off the same car park and also commited suicide. WHU Exeter will know where I mean - Trenchard Street car park."

I saw someone go under a train at London Bridge while I staggering home from a work Christmas piss up ages ago. The train was overdue to go and a bloke 10 yards in front of me sprinted for it (I had given up). He tried to put the brakes on when the doors shut but lost his footing and slithered feet first between the train and the platforrn while the train left the station. Wish I hadn't looked but sometimes you can't help it.

"I have seen the results of three suicides and one fatal accident and have heard many anecdotal accounts I saw the results at Harrow & Wealdstone station as I walked from the track onto the platform I heard a driver sound his horn in a way I knew something was wrong. I walked back there was a leg cut off at the groin with a khaki coloured boot on it in the 4ft(Between the rail) and no blood at that speed the body exploded. I saw at King Cross a train pull into a platform (After the passengers and people waiting were told to leave) there was a hole in the yellow canopy like a basketball had gone through it, powder blue ribbons in the grill that was what was left of whatever they were wearing and red mist down the side of the engine and first carriage The slower the speed of the train the slower and nastier the death being dragged along under a train wouldn't be much fun. After the police have finished a coroner has to come to the site and make sure all the body parts a tethered before pronouncing the cause of death"

"Blimey, it gets worse. Won't judge, but a bit naughty doing that, if you're not going to use a rope than it's off a high building and make sure below isn't a pedestrian area. All very tragic."

I read that Thorpe ended himself by throwing himself in front of a train. The poor driver must be traumatised. And the emergency services responders who would have had to deal with getting his remains off the track. And his poor family not being able to see his body in tact before burying him.

No doubt some of us would miss this site if it folded but would we really ? and the old saying don't open thread if you don't want to is just crap talk anyway ... A sad story and to many of us at a certain age enjoy watching him give it back on the cricket field at times when we use to get turned over almost every game.

I dont whether to feel sadder about him taking his own life which is crushing.... Or The way the imbeciles on WHO can turn a tribute thread about one of the best batsmen of his era into a slanging match.. As Ive said before if youve got nothing nice to say about one of the gentlemen of the game then just say nothing...

"No you thick cսnt, I was referring to your: ""I think I can see where you make the obvious link there: I embarrassed you on here years ago about some triviality, long forgotten by one of us but the other is still seeking payback."" Which is what you always use when anybody catches you with your fucking pants down."

"...""You're going senile as well as being a crushing bore. "" Yet here YOU are, openly, willingly and enthusiastically having a conversation with me. Funny, that. Like I suggested - show this thread the respect you demand I should. Simples."

"Far Cough 4:53 Mon Aug 12 Ah, so she's the woman who made a move to chuck a pan of boiling water over a law enforcement officer who had come to check out her report of a possible prowler on her property, is she not? I think I can see where you make the obvious link there: I embarrassed you on here years ago about some triviality, long forgotten by one of us but the other is still seeking payback. Suggest you show this thread the respect you think I don't and take your grievance elsewhere."

The relevance is you being a cսnt on the Sonya Massey thread but being a sanctimonious bore on the Graham Thorpe thread. The matter of their deaths is irrelevant. HTFHYC
