(Gianluca di Marzio - in Italian) Newcastle are looking at alternative options for a centre-back despite submitting a third bid to sign Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi, 24. (Athletic - subscription required) Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation of Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, 20, and will look to make an offer if the Englishman becomes available. (Telegraph - subscription required) Sky Paper Talk **Today's not online yet** Bristol Live Bristol City set to complete loan signing of West Ham talent as Scott Twine pursuit continues Liam Manning has turned to his former club to bring one of their brightest prospects to Ashton Gate Bristol City are set to make West Ham talent George Earthy their fourth signing of the summer with the 19-year-old arriving on a season-long loan, but Bristol Live understands that does not impact the Robins' pursuit of Scott Twine. Earthy should arrive in the West Country this week in time for Saturday’s Championship clash against Millwall on Saturday, with the England Under-20 among the most talented individuals in the Hammers academy. The Londoner, who has been with his boyhood club since he was an Under-6, made his Premier League debut last season under former City defender David Moyes, and scored his first goal against Luton Town at the London Stadium in May. He was also named Young Hammer of the Year and has been involved across pre-season. With Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, James Ward-Prowse effectively ahead of Earthy plus Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme signed to boost attacking options out wide, Julen Lopetegui has ultimately deemed the attacking midfielder’s development will be best served with a sustained period of games at Championship level and City have won the race for his loan signature ahead of a number of their rivals. Shortly before the end of last season, Moyes said of Earthy : “George is a really, really talented player. What George will need to do is build up and improve his strength and his power. His football ability is not in question one bit, but it will be more about how he can handle and come into the Premier League. ""You think of the likes of David Silva, players like that who might have been slight in stature but they still found a way. George’s challenge now will be to find a way of developing that to the point where he can become an established Premier League player.” Earthy is ostensibly a central playmaker but has played out wide and even in a slightly deeper midfield role during his time through the Hammers youth set-up. Liam Manning’s connections at the London Stadium, having spent four years at U23 manager, have undoubtedly aided City in their desire to bring the starlet to Ashton Gate."
