FMOB they're going a bit OTT in plugging this all over TV and radio innit? There's no escaping it. Who's actually interested in it though? I'll tell you who; NO cսnt. That's who.

I'm not going to whitewash all the Paralympians as heroes, though. I remember that Spanish, murdering, bomber terrorist who was destined to spend his life in prison. Went on hunger strike though, resulting in him losing the use of his legs, got released on compassionate grounds and went on to win 8 golds and 15 medals.

Given the politics of people here who call the athletes derogatory names, I'm kind of surprised they would even notice their TV viewing habits being disrupted, seeing this is all on Channel 4. Bunch of cancel culture snowflakes, I guess. As someone who went down to watch the Paralympic marathon, in 2012, I'm guessing the name calling is a result of being embarrassed by the knowledge you would be humiliated in a race by a one armed, blind lady.

I used to be a national level swimmer myself and those walls are pretty soft and spongy given they contain the ability to sense the most sensitive touch to record their times accurately so the 'human torpedo' wont have hurt himself much at all but fuck me did he hit it with some pace. The speed he gets up with just a freestyle kicking motion is incredible, esp when most of the others are using a butterfly kick. With no goggles to he wont be able to accurately see when the wall is coming.

I must say, watching China win the swimming relay was literally breath-taking. Their swimmer on the final leg had no arms. He literally dived in head first and flapped his legs so hard he went off like a speed boat. As for breathing, well, he didn't. He just held his head underwater for the whole length. And as he approached the wall I did think to myself "How does he touch?" and, yes, you guessed it, he just swam head first into the wall at a rate of knots that must leave him with at least a sore bump and a bruise. As he took his accolades he just popped one leg up on the side and held himself there.
What an absolute legend.

"goose 6:51 Thu Aug 29 We saw a bit of the paralympic athletics back in 2012. Oscar Pistorius was running that day before he became even better known! Anyway, talking about bionic legs, they might look quite swift on TV but up close in the stadium, those blade folk were absolutely flying round that track. It was similar to seeing F1 live for the first time. I think I'd still be trying to complete a lap now if I'd started at the same time as them."

i'd back myself in a swimming or running race vs most Paralympians.............. not the one's with the bionic legs though. In my book that's just cheating.

"My daughter has cerebral palsy so understandably in my house we actually quite enjoy watching these incredibly performances by those who have had to overcome huge adversity on a daily basis just living, let alone competing at the highest possible level of sport. To have a bunch of fat balding cunts comment on a football message board that they are a load of 'raspberries' despite the fact that they could wipe the floor with these commentators in their particular sporting discipline is slightly comedic. Obviously im biased in this but I think its an incredible spectacle and its a testament to human's abilities to overcome."
