You feel mortal every time someone near your age dies? Don't be a fanny, MPI fellla. As for a decade ago? It was 34 years.

In other news,  Roma have sacked manager Daniele de Rossi just four matches into the new Serie A season.
I think I sort of get where CoT is coming from Manners. its partly because in my minds eye it was only a decade ago that he was coming from nowhere to perform miracles and partly because his age is not far away from mine so it really makes me feel mortal.

Saw him in a World Cup Documentary not long ago and he looked in good shape so quite a surprise to hear this news.  What a tournament he had in 90, still a great tournament from memory.  RIP.

RIP Toto, from a generation of football when people gave a shit. He was the type of person who you felt you would be if you had the chance to play football.
Will say though, of topic. The 82 World Cup was the greatest ever

I think everyone related to the player who was hardly known who exploded in a home World Cup & became a national hero overnight.
RIP Toto, far too young

Brilliant passionate player and a standout from Italia 90 which for me is still my favourite WC ever. May be something to do with being 16 at the time and the start of a fantastic era of music, decent 'Es' and summers of fun with good friends.

Genuinely shocked, 59 is too young.

RIP 'Toto'

gutted.
he was Sicilian as well.

Italia '90 was (for me) the best world cup even though the stats dont back that up. Toto was one the standout memories of that tournament.

RIP Toto.

Remember the 1990 WC like it was yesterday... hard to believe Schillaci is gone!
