Rhodes Scholar and completed Army Ranger school. Walked away from the army to become a janitor in a music studio in Nashville. His family disowned him for it, and he went on to become one of the greatest country singers of all time. Country music has lost a titan.

Excellent singer, excellent actor, excellent lyricist, brilliantly dry sense of humour.
