I weirdly thought they might look in my wallet.  I had no real issue with it and assume they were looking for gear.

clearly didnt get all of it as there was a
fair amount of aggro mainly between west ham fans.  Fight kicked off right by me and one got hauled out

They looked inside joyo’s and found no money, some Werthers Originals and a picture of a young Cambodian girl.

Unacceptable, and I would also like to know on what grounds this was allowed.

The simple answer I guess is if you have nothing to hide (like stop and search) then why should this bother you? The not so simple answer and one that brings legality in to it is a football club and stewards are not in a position of authority legally to do this - yes, you can be patted down as we all have at matches on entry but to gain access to items that are private with no legal reason is totally not on.

I do hope anyone affected by this reports this to the relevant authorities and at the very least has a written explanation sent to them, in full, outlining why this was done and what regulations they used to enforce this.

Would I have complied? Without thinking, probably, because in the heat of the moment I would just want to be on my way to my seat, but, I would like to think if I kicked up a fuss and police were called to the situation they would back me and others unless the football club could provide sufficient legislation both as a business and in a legal sense why this is allowed.

For data breaches under GDPR legislation fines can be £17.5m or 4% of global turnover whichever is the higher
The club should report Brentford & ask for the maximum penalty to be imposed

I read that a gig by a female group recently male ticket holders (& only them) were searched & quizzed on their knowledge of the group before being allowed to enter.
Were also told that refusal to comply would mean non entry

Quite weird. Bloody annoying and not sure why they'd do that.
