Poppy with Club Badge

Is it just me or does anyone else find them kind of crass? Just wear a poppy or don't, seems to devalue the whole thing if you you need your football team's badge with it to wear one. (Waits for a usual WHO cunting off)

I wear one and another enamel one with the year on it. (2019)
I consider them rentals and make a yearly donation to the correct organisation for the honour of wearing them.
Happy to be crass in the OPs eyes, it works for me.

I see nothing but pluses as long as the pairing really does raise awareness in football supporters’ minds. After all, the state and its employees do have a license to kill, and a state at the service of a nationalist ideology tends to kill on an industrial scale.
Yes, these are good times to build that kind of awareness.

I agree with Russ. Anything to raise awareness of it is a good thing.
plus there are incidents of whole football teams joining up to serve in the forces together. I’d imagine also the same with people volunteering after chatting on terraces at the start of both world wars.
there’ll be their families well aware of the history of that, who may well really appreciate the combination.

I don't think its crass at all. Why would it be? Its just a person indicating that they show their respects to the fallen and support the poppy appeal and associate with their football club. The poppy appeal have hugely increased their charity funding through football clubs doing this. No different to clubs having dimentia support badges or cancer charities.

Perhaps, but it helps sell more poppies which is a good thing.

Don’t see the issue (aside of the from the fact that I hate the current crest).
Ultimately, as long as all the proceeds go to the Poppy Appeal, who cares?

Didn't even know they existed. But yes. Don't!
