Relegation

We need to wake up to the fact that this is now looking distinctly possible and by the time we play Everton will be looking very likely if the clown of a manager is still employed by the clown of an owner.

From today's Guardian - spot on:

Tottenham 4 West Ham 1  Where to begin with West Ham  after their 4-1 defeat at Tottenham?  Lucas Paquetá is doing nothing to  justify his mooching demeanour  in attacking midfield. Alphonse  Areola is letting in soft goals and  his distribution against Spurs  was poor. The defence remains  leaky and there appears to be a  problem with attitude, desire and  discipline. Edson Álvarez picked  up a ridiculous red card during  the 5-1 defeat by Liverpool in the  Carabao Cup and the manner of  Mohammed Kudus's dismissal  against Spurs raises questions over  Julen Lopetegui's authority. There  is a view that Kudus would not have  been scuffling with Spurs players  if the squad were fully behind  Lopetegui.

My forecast for this season, back in August, was that we’d be more or less lower mid table but clear of the relegation zone. It’s about where we are now and will probably remain. As for Jalopy I think he will be shown the door in the close season unless relegation, in the minds of the owners not us, becomes more of a risk than it is now.

Lose to Wolves and this is a real possibility.

Nailed on if El Flopo isn't sacked.

As soon as we are in deep relegation trouble, Sullivan will likely pull the trigger. Unfortunately for our season, some of our relegation rivals have got off to truly dreadful starts so it's bought 'Loser Lop' more time, especially after that outrageously fortunate victory last week.

It currently looks like relegation this season will be a bun fight between Wolves, Crystal Palace, Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton, Everton and West Ham. Maybe one or two more.
Mate. Up until last week I would have agreed 100% with all that. But now he has made his feelings about Amorim clear. He going to cut off his nose. Too spite his face.? This is going to be his retreat from Moscow.

Six teams beneath us in the table. All we need to do is keep pace with any 3 of them to avoid the drop.

Sullivan's probably already crunched the figures on his state-of-the-art Okikoki 2000 (Pro) computer and determined we're staying up, whatever happens, which is all he wants/needs.

Prepare to cede bragging rights to, well, everybody else, really.

Jaan. Hit him in the pocket.(It’s the only language he understands.) You can’t even protest at a match now. And the media just laugh’s at us.

We should know Sullivan's MO by now. He ain't going anywhere (Sadly)

There’s a saying somewhere that goes. “Pride comes before the fall.” Maybe someone should tell our Glorious Leader.? Our history has been constant shit ownership. I would just like once in my time to have a owner who gives a fuck.!

Cheap Option Underwhelming appointment when we had better options. We've hoofed 150 Million on average and failed yet again to address the gaping issues in our squad.  We are where we deserve to be.

It's just ridiculous that we're even thinking and talking about relegation. With luck, this thread and those thoughts will soon sink into the WHO abyss.

Relegation?
Southampton will need to get 11 more points than us this term. Pick the games where they can do that.

and/or

Wolves need to get 10 more points than us - anyone care to name those games?

and/or

Ipswich - our closest team in the relegation pit - need to get 8 more points than us. That's 2 wins and 2 draws more than us.  From where? They've shown spirit but little else.

In addition to one/some/all of the above, Palace need to get 6 more points than us and Leicester/Everton need 4 more points than us this term.

These last 3 outcomes are realistically possible and more probable, but even then, if that happens, one or more of the current bottom 3 have still got to turn a corner so sharp it'll cut your hands off.

Sullivan won't move J-Flop on as that would be tantamount to having to admit he made a bad call.

Like I said previously (using different words), so long as there are 4 teams in the league more likely than us to be relegated, Sullivan's Business Plan remains intact.

He will only react (read knee-jerk) when it looks highly probable he will lose the status of being the owner of a PL club.
I don't think there is 4 teams though!

4 teams with Moyes still in charge definitely!

but the fact is he isn't in charge anymore and we have someone so inferior of the great man!
