If not Bowen, who?

As much as he's been adopted as the new Mr West Ham, it seems to be the consensus amongst everyone that Bowen is not cut for the captain's role. So who does everyone think should replace him? Soucek? Fabianski?

I don't think it really matters. We learned that when Upson wore the armband but Parker was our captain. You can still shout, point and clap even without an armband.
Although I must say that I always assumed that Loppy signed Kilman to be his captain - new broom and all that.
I think it does matter as Upson was a shit captain who packed it in about half way through the season. I remember it being rumored that he had it in his contract that he had to be captain but who knows. There's a disconnect when the manager gives the armband to one person and another is trying to do the leading. It's not why we went down that season, but it was a pretty big symptom of the dysfunction.

A captain needs to have the ability to dish out a bollocking if necessary the way we’re swanning around it’s like there’s no desire to compete! Didn’t our centre halves know that you get tight on woods? Bizarre he had so much space!

I can’t answer this until I know Bowen’s coin toss success rate.
I think Lopetegui should make THUNDERCUNT our new Captain as he's a great tosser.
I'm CLINT. THUNDERCUNT's your mother.

Ward Prowse started off well but then faded badly. It's amazing how much better players get when they are no longer here. Our fans re-write how good they are as soon as we are struggling.
Has only played 90 mins once at Forest, 0 goals 0 assists and a red card.
Should be here as captain
"Ward Prowse started off well but then faded badly" Same as the team then...

Another fuck up by Lopetegui by fucking off Ward-Prowse. Not only have we needed his quality in Midfield at times but also he has proven for many years to be a decent Captain at Southampton and a leader.
Yes, was surprised the Ward Prowse wasn't given a chance.

Rather give it to Kudus than Kilman, give him the armband new contract and try convince him to stay
but as already said......our squad hardly screams leaders its worrying

I've seen nothing from Kilman which suggests he's a leader. If he was he'd do so anyway regardless of whether he has an armband or not.
100%.

I'd probably agree with that normally. But think we're in a position where having leaders in your team counts.

Interestingly Lopetegui made Kilman his Captain when at Wolves which did the trick getting them well away from the foot of the table. So was a bit surprised he didn't then give it to him as his new big summer signing as a statement of intent. I'm happy with either being our Captain but I do agree in general we lack plenty of leaders.

Kilman. Bowen is a great player, arguably Moyes best signing but, I do not think he is Captain material.

Didn't matter. As others have said, we've got no real leaders in the team at all.
And you need leaders in times like this.

*Forgot to add creating Paquetas goal vs Ipswich as well
12 pieces of action he's been heavily involved in, on top of everything else he does, whilst some are far too busy getting themselves mindlessly sent off or with their head up their own arse trying to hide from the FA..

- Effectively assisted for Dias own goal in our equaliser at the time vs Man City
- Involved in both goals, scoring himself away in Palace win - London Derby
- Scores only goal against Bournemouth in Cup tie win
- Assists Ings in the last minute for our equaliser at Fulham - London Derby
- Heavily involved in Souceks equaliser away at Brentford - London Derby
- Assists Antonio's opener and scores himself in Ipswich big win
- Sets up the 1st goal scored away at Spurs - London Derby
- Involved in the build up for Summervilles goal, as well as step up and score in the final moments of the Man Utd win at home
11 big moments where he's either scored, or played a big part in other's scoring, before you look at the rest of his work rate in general.
That's also whilst having to play right along the forward line, tracking back defending, whilst he's also had to put up with his Team mates letting him down by getting themselves sent off 3 times already after just 12 matches.
He cannot control their petulance and ill discipline. But what I do see a lot of is him positively encouraging and talking to his Team mates as games progress. Beyond that the players have to take more responsibility for their own actions as the ill discipline shows.
Not sure there's a great deal more he could be doing out there as Captain, after proving he is stepping up time and again in big moments for us when it matters most, as a new Captain under a new manager.

Kilman but I'd stick with Bowen. Think too much is being made of him not cutting it.
During our biggest moments of the season he's been seen to step up and either score at the right time, or lay it on a plate for other's, or been heavily involved in the action when we needed it most.

Yup, Kilman out of those who are pretty much automatic starters.

The very least of our worries. Not sure why people harp on about this so much, changing captains won't make a shred of difference. You can take that to the bank.
