Probably my favourite era of supporting West Ham, despite a few seasons in Div 2

As well as the players already mentioned, a back line of Breaker, Gale, Foster and Dicks with Slater and Keen on the wings playing some delightful football

Was it Birmingham city away that Bishop scored another beauty?

Morleys goal away at Swindon was one of the most memorable and important in recent history.

I was at that Port Vale gane.  Stood in the rain in the away end for the entire match watching a nailed on 0-0 end with that tremendous strike at the death to clinch the points.  Superb strike!

Yep, Morley really did have great ball control and touch, great with his back to the goal, strong, and could score with left or right peg and was good in the air. Probably one of my favourite WH players.

Loved bish in his first couple of seasons,  played with real style.  It was a type of "walking" football that very few players could get away with nowadays. Yes his form and popularity did suffer in later years. But I still have some great memories of him.

Morley,  I remember to this day in a match report in one of the papers described him as "a peripatetic cart horse" , which made me laugh.

Just my opinion
Bishop was very similar to Dev  ...just a poorer version..

Different positions ..of course...but Dev was more than  just a  winger .
In fact that's an insult
I always thought Yossi was the closest we got to another Dev. Really rated him

Must have been a different one. Seems Julian Dicks has form for this sort of thing. Here's the one with him, Neil Ruddock and Robbie Fowler during his time at Liverpool.

He later showed his true colours by beating a team mate half to death in the changing room after a match for criticising his play, for which he was sacked and nicked. He just floated around non league after that.

A good mate of mine passed away a couple of years ago due to a brain toumer  but on his last birthday we were all asked to send in video birthday wishes via WhatsApp and someone knew Bishop and asked him to send a video.
He was living in the states at the time but still found time to send a video which I will always remember him fondly for

Yes for me too, I think some look back fondly on Bish with tints on because he had long hair and could ping a pass. I liked him don't get me wrong, but I remember there were periods when he use to get dogs abuse from our fans. He scored 12 goals for us in 9 years, many defenders get more than that, and not a sniff of an England cap. So yea a bit of perspective here for me, which I suppose most will completely dismiss :-)

That was Dicks with Robbie Fowler when he was at Liverpool and they weren't holding hands, they had their hand on each others knee. There's a picture of it in Julian Dicks biography, Terminator. I'll try and dig it out after breakfast

That gay rumour was pure bullshit. They were moved out of Man City because Howard Kendall thought they were a bad example to the young lads in the team.

They were just best pals who were as thick as thieves and liked going out but Morley's missus never forgave him for pulling birds on the side. As we know from his knife wound!

Bish was a top player in a team that seriously lacked quality. If we had better players at the time then I have no doubt he would've been far more consistent than he was. I always think of him as an Andrea Pirlo in a time of dinosaur tactics before we even knew who that bloke was.

I lost count of the number of defence splitting passes that Bish played and nobody could read them except Morley on the odd occasion when he hadn't been on the piss or to the STD clinic!

Morley lived near me in Honey Lane, you would see him in local pubs with his missus.

She looked the absolute fruitcake that she was meant to be.

I always though Trevor Morley was a real player for us, much under valued by too many of our fans.

Ian Bishop was extremely talented but could be frustrating to watch as he was bullied out too many games, but other times he dominated the midfield like Roy Keane. I suppose that is what frustrating players do, frustrate you.

There was a long and in depth interview with Ian Bishop in a broadsheet a few seasons after the PL started. He said he felt a little left out by club as some of the players brought weren't as good as he felt he was. to a degree I agreed with him, but I don't pick the team.

I thought it was two brasses in bed with Morley and Bishop.........but hey-hoo, one or two, what does it matter.
