Greece v England

Nobody gives a monkey's bollocks do they?

I remember when an England game was a must-see, big event.

Everything has gone to shit.

International football is moribund.

Suspended, and there I was thinking he’d been dropped because he’s shit.
He blows hot and cold for them, with a lot of cold.
Scored their only goal at this summer's Copa, I believe.

Shamar Nicholson (Spartak Moscow) who is the only out and striker that gets called regularly has a better strike rate.

They should be doing much better generally in Concacaf.

West Ham player's get more new suspensions these days than one of Freddie Flintoffs car accidents. Don't they want to play Football anymore.. In Antonio's case, clearly not and should just retire now.

Yea, they have finals/winners - Spain, Italy and Portugal are the previous winners. At least you've finally understood now that they aren't ''pointless friendlies'' as you kept insisting they were.

At least with the WC and Euros the format makes sense and although a lot of those games are stupid, San Marino or Andora type games for the big nations, there is an end goal in getting the finals tournament when the proper games start, well eventually as even those at times can be a bit pointless with how many teams qualify from the groups, not getting to the knockout stages means your proper shit.

But yeah, agree with the OP, international games are not what they used to be, and all down to their being far to many now, should have kept the home championships though and binned the friendlies and the Nations nonsense, some great games back in the day, England/Scotland especially, still remember as a kid seeing the Tartan Army invading London.

The real takeaway for me is having watched a 3 min highlight reel and read a report is how many good players England have now, fuck me they could probably put three good sides out.

I'm not one for usually coming out bemoaning stuff like Bowen doesn't get talked about, but in the report I read several players got a mention, including subs, and not a word about Bowen, so Alf does have a point.

The German needs to win the world cup or he's a massive failure. No pressure.

Bowen with a really nice "hockey assist" as we would say here..

Watched it down the local boozer. Good game. Good energetic play. England were much, much better. excellent set up by Bowen. All good.

No mention of Bowen. Gets a few minutes always seems to do ok but will be dropped soon as the “names” from the rich clubs can be bothered to pkay again.

Thought we looked more balanced without Kane, proper wide men and Watkins etc.  Midfield with Jones etc looked a bit better too.

Assuming we beat Ireland, the right thing to do would be to continue with the same group imo. But wont happen.

Well done Bowen/Leonard Hatred for making the best of your customary little run out and making the quality 3rd goal. 👏

And Pickford is in fantastic form for both Club and Country ever since the Euros. Can see why he prevented us from getting the win on Saturday.

Walker is the most frustrating of all players out there for England tonight. Why does he have to put his foot on the ball and pass it back when the best option was clearly to wang it into the box.

Refs a bit whistle happy, every fall over ( usually the Greeks) gets a free kick, thought the refs we’re supposed to let the game flow more.

Have always said anyone who pulls out of an international squad should automatically miss the next Premier League game
To be fair to Rice he has a broken toe & came off again during the Chelsea game
I see Kane says people shouldn’t pull out. Well, he DOES have 4 kids

I grant I'm not up to speed with all the names nowadays but you who ever you are having a superior knowledge of football I'd very much doubt.

Pavlidis and Ioannidis the Greeks to watch. Wouldn't mind either at West Ham.

That probably says more about your football knowledge.
