Still a massive game no matter what the occasion. Same team or switch it up?

I'm glad he didn't start, he came on just the right time. Well played Jarrod, must have been another dream come true for him.

Harwood-Bellis is another 1 of Carsleys favourites from his days in the U21s. He certainly wasn't picked based on his excellent form in defence this season, that's for sure.
True enough.

Totally agree about it being a stinking pile of shit before the sending off, thanks to diabolical defending on the night.

I will say it's a positive for England Carsley has picked players that Southgate never would have and most of them have proven they are useful and have potential. I'd say we know more about the state of the players past the first 14 or so than we have in the last 6 years because that's all Southgate would pick even for friendlies so barely anyone was able to get meaningful minutes and be acclimatised to international football. Plus he had the balls to drop Kane. Plus Bellingham looked twice the player with a freer role and not shackled.
So props to Carsley for that at least.
100% ^^^^^^^^^
Carsley came in and immediately played the players that Southgate had left out or on the bench, players that could have won the Euros.
He took a calculated risk that didn’t pay off in his selection against Greece at home in October, with Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham operating as false nines. It backfired. But so what, he had the balls to try it. Got slated for it in the Media and of course by the clowns on here.
This week after making another brave call to select Ollie Watkins over Harry Kane, a 3-0 win in Athens has the same media framing him as a top manager.
He will go back to the U21s and continue to do a good job or maybe even pick up a decent club job.
It's clear the players like him and think highly of him.
So an English man steps aside for the German. What a great squad to inherit, surely, he can't fuck it up.
This was a heap of shit until the pen and sending off. But yes some of the players baldie has brought in who have done well hasn't reflected well on stubborn Southgate.
I see that Harwood-Bellis got his chance over Kilman? Nobody seems to rate Kilman expect this Loppy cսnt?

Bowen has made a positive contribution in every game he has played for Khazi and even Waistcoat except I think one sub appearance in the Euros after coming on at the 60-70 mins mark against one team ( struggles to remember) I think we drew with but were expected to do much better against? Bowen didnt appear again in the Euros. Thing is Bowen has always outperformed Gordon and some others imo but only ever got 20 mins. Hardly ever starts a game. Im trying to be objective here ( not easy but trying to be nonetheless ) but he sinply has not been given the minutes others have got despite outperforming them. The others are from richer, more fashionable teams. Its big ( rich ) 6 bias as it has always been.
its so obvious that even Kane mentioned it when referring to Bowen’s goal.
Will Tuchel have Chelsea bias due to his past association with players he obviously knows like Madelke, Gallagher etc? Will he aboid pickimg players based on who they play for and reputation but instead look for a balanced team that plays as a team even if it means leaving some of Southgaye and Carsley’s “undroppables” out of the starting 11?
if so, we might just see some further progress in tounaments against the best nations.

Good to see some of the less favoured players get a chance and younger players too. The side has looked more balanced without trying to cram in all the media hyped players from the rich clubs. But will Tuchel pick them once the 9 withdrawals are available? Oh and even tonight against Ireland with the return if Kane its my opinion we are better without him as first choice. But the media will forget we beat a 10 man Ireland and focus on another goal from Kane even if a good percentage have been pens just like tonight.
And, players like Madueke will likely find it impossible to make the kind of runs he has been making against the very best national teams. Once he’s played against a really good national team we will know his limitations or the extent of them. We need more games against the best national teams generally. Sailing through qualifiers, friendlies etc pretty meaningless. This nations league will become useful if we get to the final stages. Then we might get an idea if this generation, which looks very promising, can deliver more than a quarter final or runners up award. Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia ( well maybe not now ) will be when we find if Tuchel can pick / mould a trophy winning side.

Apart from when Englishmen (Charlton and McCarthy) are in charge of them whilst containing a few English player's as well, they've always been dogshit.

Madueke is just the latest in a long line of young players who get championed by Sky/TNT and fast-tracked beyond their ability and top flight experience. I wouldn't swap him for Bowen, I know that much
I wouldn't swap him for Bowen either.

That's how you come on as a sub, great stuff Bowen, debut goal as well, and boost his confidence, just what we need right now.
Meanwhile Southgate's back at home thinking why aren't we sitting back defending a lead

To think Bowen only got called up at the very last minute by Carsley due to so many other players (8) dropping out through injury/can't be arsed. Giving Carsley fuck all credit for holding him back as much as he did and if he had it his way, wouldn't have called up Bowen at all for this meet up.

cause he plays for us means he's the best.
Behave. That has fuck all to do with why I was calling for him to start ahead of Madueke.
Yeah it's like everyone wants young players to get a chance until it means one of ours isn't playing.. It was the right call we won 5-0

Well pleased for him been really unfortunate to not score for England before.. A lot of fortune about that one but he was owed it.
Ignore me yes Bowen has been in brilliant form all season and cause he plays for us means he's the best.
Just imagine if it was the other way around, those saying that Madueke has an advantage cause not playing in a struggling team wouid say why isn't Bowen being picked when we're at the top and that bloke is playing for Chelsea who have been shit..
His stats are better than Madueke this season, even though he's not been at his best. He's a better all round player. Anyone can see that. You say you've watched both and disagree. I'm not talking about any big club bias.
Thought you were ignoring me?
All I said was I could understand it, he's picked a lot of young players and nobody has moaned about any of the others... It's what we should be doing and if you think I've been proved wrong when we were 3 up when the sub was made, I think he's been proved right by giving young players a run out..

Get in there. So pleased for him. Didn’t think he was ever going to get an England goal and he might not get any more chances after this game.
Done more in 5 minutes than Madueke did in 75. You'd like to think we're not the only ones who can see that
