It's not serious booing of Rice. It's banter.
It's not like Ince or Lampard or Defoe.

All depends on what that purple-haired person has to offer the site, doesn’t it. Maybe they/he/she is/are here to tell you there is a market for responsible, well-educated professionals in a real world out there where pronouns don’t matter so much? Rather than just some emotionally triggered consumers lost in a meaningless social media narrative where pronouns are so important? Maybe they are here to release you from a collective cage of cultural conditioning?

I get what you are saying some will probably feel embarassed but all honesty it was tongue and cheek. I remember singing we're fucking shit, lets pretend we scored a goal. I tell you what was cringe, champions of europe we know what we are.

You're a right bundle of laughs aren't you, you fucking helmet.
I might remind you, we aren't the only team that does it.
Do you politely clap when the opposition score, "oh jolly good chaps"?
Actually when I first started going, the supporters would clap if the opposition scored a cracking goal. And we would always clap the opposition goalkeeper when going to their end.
Nowadays the vast majority of our supporters wouldn't do that as they lack class and are probably too focused on sniffing gear, sinking pints and updating their social media status.

When were getting smashed, usually by one of the top six, we used to sing "let's pretend we scored" and then proceeded to celebrate scoring a 'goal'.
Not cringe at all, just a bit of fun.
That was always as cringe and small time as singing West Ham are massive when losing. As is singing 'how shit are you are, we're winning [at home/away]', as is signing 'carefree wherever you may be, you ain't got no history' to Chelsea, and singing gas chamber sounds and the 'willy hanging out' song to Tottenham in years gone by.
Let's face it, so many West Ham supporters who engage in these activities are complete and utter cringey cunts. Many are total scum.

A West Ham fan moaning about the crowd singing and trying to lift the team when we're getting smashed, now that's fucking embarrassing.. Our fans were showing some backbone.

I always think this song depends on the context of the term 'massive'.
Does it refer to the team's ability to win games? I'd have thought not.
Does it refer to the fans ability to turn out in numbers no matter where and when? That for me seems more the point.
With that context, "West Ham are massive everywhere we go" feels like a decent chant no matter the score.

The whole stadium was getting behind the team despite the score, better than the normal library over there. We lost by 6 last season with hardly a murmur from the crowd... At least we tried to lift the team and the atmosphere helped soften what was a shit result.

You forgot your emojis??
Sorry about that

, was having a bit of a black arm band moment

when thinking about the game
Do get the singing though, can't remember the game, not us but a proper shit side who hadn't scored for a good few games, bottom of the league and 4-0 down but get a goal at the end of the game and the fans go mental like they just won a Cup, made me laugh (could have been Sheffield Utd) so get our fans were maybe just having a laugh in a similar way.
Let's face it, was that or cry

Not sure its embarrassing, i can see the tongue in cheek manner it would have been sung at the game, funny if anything, fans just making light of a bad game, what do you think they should do, sit quietly arms folded looking pissed off and/or boo?
Get a grip mate, no one is happy we lost and in such a way but doesn't mean you can't have a laugh.....
