Tussle between West Ham and Fulham to sign former Aston Villa player – Quick PL return possible

By Sean Lunt

West Ham United and Fulham look set for a tussle over Douglas Luiz, who will be allowed to leave Juventus.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say both clubs are the likeliest destinations for the Brazilian at this moment in time.

The newspaper explains that Juventus would like to finance a deal for a defender in January by selling at least one of Nicolo Fagioli and Douglas Luiz.

The first enquiries for the latter have begun to arrive from England and at the moment it is a ‘derby’ between Fulham and West Ham for him.

The market around the midfielder, who has had a torrid time in Turin since arriving from Aston Villa in the summer, has not yet started up but Juventus are confident the Premier League has not forgotten him.

There’s no mention of an asking price at this point or what Fulham and West Ham would look to pay for the midfielder, just that they appear to be his best options for now.

We’re sure Aston Villa would show interest at some point too, particularly given Monchi openly stated that he would sign him again if he could.

Either way expect his name to be regularly popping up in the coming weeks, with Juventus keen to move him on to fund their own business.

West Ham striker Niclas Füllkrug offered to Juventus

According to reports from Tuttosport, German striker Niclas Füllkrug has reportedly been offered to Juventus.

After a stellar career in the Bundesliga, where he consistently found the back of the net, the striker’s move to West Ham has not gone as planned. His impressive record includes 15 goals in 42 matches for Borussia Dortmund, 49 goals in 125 games for Werder Bremen, and 24 goals in 80 appearances for Hannover. However, since his €26 million (plus €4 million in bonuses) summer transfer to West Ham, he has only managed one goal in four appearances.

The 31-year-old forward, whose current market value is around €20 million, has a contract with West Ham until 2028. Despite this, rumours suggest he’s keen on a loan move away from England, citing personal reasons. His recent struggles with an Achilles tendon inflammation have limited his playing time in the Premier League.

Juventus, potentially in the market for a striker depending on Milik’s recovery, has emerged as a possible destination. The player is reportedly intrigued by the prospect of wearing the famous black and white jersey and experiencing Italian football for six months.

His entourage has begun exploring the feasibility of such a move, though any potential deal is not expected to materialize immediately. Juventus will be closely monitoring Milik’s recovery progress, with a clearer picture expected in about ten days when he’s due to return to group training.
