I can't remember a team imploding as badly as that, ever.
They've just suddenly gone from being the best team in the world to absolute arse gravy.

Yep, we’re bound to get a good walloping by them, the good thing it will improve their confidence so that they’ll go on a tremendous run and win the league, pipping Chelsea,Liverpool and Arsenal by one point.

I managed to get a ticket for the game at City in the ballot. I just know they will have a shit Christmas losing all games then play us on the 4th and smash us.

I get the sentiment, but Man City (AKA Abu Dhabi FC) are not much better these days as they have their share of glory seeking 'supporters'.
The old school, proper Man City fans though are much more tolerable than Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool fans for sure.
All the great clubs in England have the same problem...the middle classes decided they got bored with the rugger ..and with all the the dosh floating around ..muscled in on the working man's game instead.

WHU away tickets back in the day you'd struggle to sell...buying one wasn't a problem believe me an average away -day... we did alright attendance wise on the road...but you never had a problem buying a ticket ..many just payed (or not) on door on the day
Now you need POINTS ....and more POINTS...on top of even more POINTS.

Over the last six PL games City have four points and are the worst performing team in the top ten. They have not faltered so much as fallen off a cliff. I don’t remember any of our pundits/experts in the media forecasting this would happen when making predictions for this season. Those that did not predict another City championship still had them finishing in a CL qualifying position.

One win in their last 10 games, losing seven, is certainly not a stat you would have attributed to them., Part of it is the loss of Rodri as they have always had that enforcer in the middle, Fernandinho then Rodri. Now though there are a lot of players 30 or over. Surprised Pep bought Gündoğan back at the age of 34. Walker is 34, Stones and Ake 30 and 29, De Bruyne 33, Bernardo Silva 30. Got a few youngsters there but not quite at the level of those before.

Same. Not fucking looking good though. Convincing win against their neighbours might just be the catalyst they need to sort their shit out.

It is indeed odd how they have fallen off a cliff in recent times, and not at the start of the season but a quarter of the way through it after a typically excellent start to the season.
Be interesting to see if, when and how Guardiola manages to turn around this abysmal form. I thought at the time that letting Cole Palmer go to Chelsea was a massive mistake, as even the limited game time he got a Man City it was obvious the lad has something about him.

It shows what can happen if a foreign entity, who don't fully appreciate and understand (/respect) the laws & societal mores of the UK, take control of a long established, local society based organisation.

I’m not disagreeing with all the footballing talking heads who proclaim Pep Guardiola as the greatest coach since the whistle and traffic cone were invented. But the context of his genius is in managing three clubs with huge resources (in comparison with their peers) who are almost guaranteed to be one of the top two teams in their domestic competitions.It would be fascinating to see how he would fare managing a side in more limited financial circumstances. A team like West Ham maybe! Could a job swap be arranged between two struggling clubs?
