Predictions for Fulham and Palace home games

These are big games. One reason is that Potter could do with a good start, for obvious reasons, and two wins, or even 4 points, could mean an outside chance of a push for a European spot - it's not too late with 18 games still left.

Hard to call for me, it's still early in Potter's reign so won't have had many training sessions still, neither Fulham or Palace are mugs, then there's the injuries.

I'll slant on the side of optimism and say 4 points.

You cunts?

Need to cut out the stupid defensive mistakes…

keep MF tight…

And get more attempts on target…

Hoping the Potter Factor gets us a good result…

We're definitely capable of beating Palace and already have some momentum behind us so I'm quite hopeful of a positive result. I do think Palace on their day are a dangerous well drilled Team by Glasner and can hurt you if they're not respected enough. 1-1 and back on an unbeaten run.

We should be targeting at least 4 points from these two games. Anything less than 4 points is a fail.

If he is going up top i don't hold much hope unless our entire tactics change.  Friday it was like playing with 10 men as i doubt he touxhed it until last 2 minutes.

Will kudus be up top, same as friday? On the wing?
is jimmy fit or not?

do we have enough defenders?
That said, GP said something Moyes never would in his presser - can’t remember the exact phrase but it was about seeing who is available and trying to adapt the gameplan to their strengths. If that’s not music to one’s ears after the last two managers then I don’t know what is!

I thought he played 3 at the back with sumerville and scarles at wingback for the Villa game.

Seems a lot were saying we played a 4 -2-3-1 I didn't see it that way.

Potter has definitely got his work cut out now our injury avoidance has gone. He’s walked into 2 key players out and another 2 injured first game.  He’s not been lucky in that sense yet.

Can he get a lot more from what we have is the question. Against Villa especially early on it looked that way but, and its probably no surprise after one training session, we somewhat returned to type as we tired and injuries to 2 key players ( esp Summerville ) really limited us as the game wore on.

Having to call on the likes of Coufal, Cresswell and Ings is a worry.  The squad really is weak in quality and simply too old and slow. Could Potter turn more to youth than expected? He might have to but I havent seen enough U21 games to know how many of that Youth Cup winning team of last season ate ready or not or even close to being able to step up?  Orford, Kodua, Earthy, Scarles but ate there any others, i saw a young lad in one game who was quite small in central midfield who had bundles of energy was quick and tenacious. Cant for the life of me remember his name?  Not saying he was ready for first 11 duties but was exactly the type of player we need in central midfield.  Anyway, hope fans are again patient. And he has a 3-5 game honeymoon period where performances have to continue to improve even if results take a bit longer.

like many I want Potter succeed. He’s smart and emotionally intelligent. Something we. Have not had for quite a while. Just hooe he can get some points quickly to buy the time that is undoubtedly needed to start fixing the mess he inherited

4 points. We should have enough to beat Palace, Fulham will be a tougher game, more than decent on their day.

What's embarrassing is that you place any importance on this.

Seriously, I can't believe that there's anyone who believes that we would be better off were Lopetegui still here and had conducted that press conference. Chalk and fucking cheese

Expecting to lose to Fulham and beat Palace. We've got multiple really key injuries and will likely be makeshift against a Fulham side who are having a great season ...a draw would be a fantastic result. Will then put the pressure on to beat Palace...hopefully have some back and reinforcements by then.

Fulham....an optimistic 1:1
Palace...hopeful of a 2-1

I'd be delighted based on the injury position though with 2 or 3 points from these game though, which would mean we win one or are unbeaten across them.

Would be well happy with 4 points from those two games considering the injuries we have

Six points, but it'll be very close against Fulham. Wouldn't mind seeing Guilherme get his first start if Summerville is out.

Looks like Summerville will be back on Saturday.

Feels like the first one I’ve watched in an age where our manager is being honest, articulate and not taking a sarcastic/thinly veiled dig at the fans or the journalist.

Scorch, I think he used somewhat similar phrasing about everyone they asked him about that wasn't a west ham player. Basically there's no point in commenting until they are in the door.
I think we are decent for 2 draws 👍

This. Moyes complains about the fans ingratitude for what he achieved, but he had made a rod for his own back. The distance he put between the fans and his work made it very difficult for those fans who weren't alienated by his football style to warm to him.

I think I love him a little bit. So many good things he said in that press conference concerning team and tactic setup, results vs performance and the youth.

And so many frank and open answers without giving too much away.

only noted he said UNTIL Ferguson is a West Ham player. May have just been a turn of phrase or should we expect him to rock up?
