Saturday football

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs BOURNEMOUTH (1230)
There’s not much between these two, but with the bit really between their teeth and six wins on the trot Newcastle start as overwhelming favourites. The Cherries will give them a game for sure, but are likely to return to the south coast with null points. Home win.

BRENTFORD vs LIVERPOOL (1500)
The league leaders can extend their supremacy to seven clear points if, as expected, they put the Bees to the sword. Away win.

LEICESTER CITY vs FULHAM (1500)
After a highly promising start to the campaign, Fulham’s fortunes have dwindled of late. And speaking of dwindling fortunes, the Foxes are in grave danger of a rapid restoration of Championship status. But they’ll hope for some return today. Draw.

WEST HAM UNITED vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1500)
Palace have been a bit of a bogie side for us in recent years. But today, with a heartening win and the new manager bounce still on our side, we should be able to add to our points tally in an emphatic manner. Unless, well, you know. Home win.  Image

ARSENAL vs ASTON VILLA (1730)
The Arse are crawling back closer to Liverpool’s coat tails, but still lag behind the leaders. Despite having slipped from the exalted top position that they occupied for some time earlier in the season, Villa are pulling back and go into this within spitting distance of the top four. Still, the home side should emerge victorious. Away win.

SUNDAY

EVERTON vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1400)
This is as much a contest of two managers as of two teams. For all the optimism that seems to have descended on Goodison Park, the Toffees remain a poor side and will struggle to contain the visiting north Londoners. Draw.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1400)
A win, a loss and four draws in their last six probably doesn’t inspire huge hope among Seagulls’ fans. You get a sense that Man U are waiting to awaken from their slumber and that it’s only a matter of time before their get their show properly back on the road. Home win.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs SOUTHAMPTON (1400)
All the talk of Forest competing realistically for the Premier League title is massively premature. Sadly, for the visitors, all the talk of the Saints’ likely relegation seems far from premature and it’s hard to see anything but another thorough thrashing awaiting them at the City Ground this afternoon. Home win.

IPSWICH TOWN vs MANCHESTER CITY (1630)
On the subject of good thrashings, everything suggests that City will give the Tractor Boys a helping hand in disembarking from the old Massey Ferguson as they seek to return to the top four. Away win.

MONDAY

CHELSEA vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (2000)
Things ain’t looking too rosy for Wolves. The hosts will hope to cement their claim for a European place come May. Home win.

NEW v BOU
BRE v LIV
LEI v FUL
WHU v CRY
ARS v AST

EVE v TOT
MNU v BHA
NFO v SOU
IPS v MCY

CHE v WOL

Maybe he meant as taking Obese Ange UP THE OXO TOWER rather than as West Ham manager?
Just saying

If he did, I doubt he would now.

It's been quite a fall from grace for the flamin galah.

I see Mad Ferret and Ladysmith talking to each other on here yet they are the same person, I think that is what's known as dissociative identity disorder.

Like us, Man U won't go down this season simply because of the dross currently occupying the bottom 5 places in the league.

Difference is, we were (half) anticipating a mediocre season as the new manager makes an impact whereas their fans and the arse-licking media were expecting instant success.

Antonio could make a miraculous comeback this season and bag a hat-trick every game, but if a Man U player farts in the tunnel, it'll be that event which dominates the sports headlines.

Not sure what psychology he is using to describe them as “possibly the worst Manchester United team in history”. I wonder if this is a language issue and he meant in terms of form rather than the quality and/or attitude in the playing squad. Either way, it can’t be the most motivating thing to hear from your new manager.

Early days for him, but at the moment it’s not looking great. Reminds me a little of Andre Villas-Boas when he came over to Chelsea from Portugal and was described as ‘the new Mourinho’.

ot sure what you're reading but that 1 in 10 is definitely not true as they recently beat City.

Had a look it's actually 3...

Your correct!  Southampton, Everton and Man city😁 Obviously my source is wrong, just had another look its actually 1 in 10 all comps. but that's also wrong as its 9 games since they beat Man City.

Mind you whatever way you look at it, its pretty poor for the money they have spent on these players and some of the opposition has been poor as well, losing at home to Wolves for example?

Not sure Amorim is the messiah, far from it from what we have seen so far, since the Dutchman left they have got considerably worse, sure he needs time but given the players he has you would be expecting more from that squad.

And people wanted the "Greasy One" to be our next manager???? 🤣 Not sure he would have done any better than the Spanish Fraud on this evidence......

A shame Mubama moved on but it was/is very unlikely he would have turned into a top striker for us or another top level team.

Would love to see Earthy get a chance next season - he looked great when new made his first few appearances in the first team.

Loser of big Ange v Van Nistelrooy next week surely goes?Let's not forget Amorim as well, surely the board at OT will be wandering what this fella is doing, seem to have got even more shit than when the bald Dutchman was in charge, see he's spouting off he has the worst ManU team in history!!!! fuck me that squad cost how much? not to mention team morale going forward after those kinds of comments, looks like for us at least Bullet dodged to me.

Tottenham’s next home game is Leicester
That SHOULD be a win. It’s on Australia Day Jan 26 & a loss might be fatal. Even a draw
The Liverpool semi final second leg is Feb 6 & they go to Villa on the 9th
Out of both domestic cups & more league struggles & he HAS to be gone
Someone else could take them out of the Europa league
