TikTok

What a load of old shit. Nearly every bird I know, including old birds are glued to TikTok and the banal videos that eat their attention spans. Not content with watching untalented morons that all use the same annoying sounds, it gets shoved in my face.

Ban the fucking thing.

There's a lot of West Ham on there too. Just can't link to it easy, but here's someone posting on Twitter about West Ham TikTok.

The bus driver keeps asking me am i on tik tok and showing me videos of donkeys singing and dancing and other bollocks. And then he'd start a normal-ish convo about sport, politics, pub etc. Its a brainwashing machine. One day the trigger video will post and they'll turn into cannibal zombies. Avoid.
I always think men who like it are a bit fruity.

I can scroll 50 posts and not see anything from anyone I know.  So I binned it a year ago
I enjoy the fact that I have no friends at all on FB (yep, not too dissimilar to real life). I was amazed that initially FB suggested friends, some of whom I do know, and some that are friends of my kids with whom I have zero connections. After a while rejecting all of these suggestions, it has now got the point of suggesting random people from around the world, none of whom I have any connection to whatsoever.

I feel that I just may have bested at least one algorithm.😁

I am still convinced that Tik-Tok is a government experiment to see how fucking low human society can be be taken.

I had fb for a while, mainly to keep an eye on my daughter. Once she got to an age where it didn't matter what I saw,I binned it. Think this was about 2013 and not been near it since.

It can't be that long before some first-to-know-needy cսnt sues their social media platform for not informing them about something unexpected or unanticipated that's not yet happened.

I don't have FB,insta or tik tok. I read X ( twitter) but have never posted on there,it's handy for a lot of archived comedy/football/music clips and it is the place where most news seems to break first. I guess this is a form of social media and engageing with you cunts is plenty for me.😁

Unfortunately, the algorithm seems to have targeted me with relentless Russian and Chinese propaganda.
That's all it exists to do, everything else is just a mechanism to facilitate that.

Delighted and very proud (and smug) that I don't have it, have never seen it, and as far as I know, nobody I know has ever looked at it in when I've been with them.

Seems like a record worth maintaining? 😁

Edit: Should add that this is also true of Instagram. I was on Twitter but dumped it a year or so ago due to it being beyond shite.

Still on FB as there are many notifications from bands and stuff that I like.

Wasn't signalling you out, I was generalising.
Not a big fan of banning stuff unless it's really extreme and harmful, I firmly believe in ignoring shit that I don't like/winds me up.

I definitely think it’s harmful, ie, quick dopamine hits and draining attention spans. My post is mostly jest though, but I genuinely hate it.

I don’t have it. I’d rather scrape my balls on broken glass that have it on my phone.

There's every topic on there and it quickly becomes engrossing. Especially if, like me, you can't help engaging with stupid people in the comments.
Unfortunately, the algorithm seems to have targeted me with relentless Russian and Chinese propaganda. So I only go on very occasionally for the sake of my sanity.
