Deadline Day January '25 (All Clubs) | 'Slams Shut' at 11pm

Thread for discussing all the movers on Deadline Day.
Starter for 10.....
Marcus Rashford to Villa (all be it it happened yesterday)...massive, expensive waste of money. His announcement photo looked like a former footballer who could barely raise a smile. And £200k+ per week for the privelege. FMOB.

Sort of business we've needed to do on more than one occasion in January.
Instead, everyone around us strengthens for the final 5 months and we tend to add a token signing at best.
Jan 2024 will take some beating.
Going into the new year in 6th we decided to sign absolutely no-one and loan/sell Kehrer, Benrahma and Fornals which resulted in a huge downturn in form and ultimately the end of Moyes.

Never been good enough? Had a 30 goal season few years back and has banged them in for England. From has fallen off a click but no doubt he is a top player when at 100%
Its if Emery can get him back to anywhere near those levels thats the question.....
If he can, then lobbing out Duran for £71m and getting Rashford and Asensio on loan is absolutely outstanding business.
Outstanding business

They've got two cast offs on loan...and a matter of months ago everyone on here was queuing up to suck Duran's dick, yet now he's left them, he weren't all that.
Bloke in work just said what great signings Rashford and Asensio were for Villa and reminded me of a conversation on here around January time. Goal each last night and an assist for Asensio.
Not bad business after all ay
Sort of business we needed to do when around the champions league places.. But Moyes refused to sign anyone because what was the point as we'd never get anyone better than Antonio...

I don’t think Rashford is anywhere near good enough, not ever been good enough, for the fanfare that has followed this situation and transfer.

12 minutes left and this Jan window nonsense will be over. Did the Sweaties let us have Cummings or are they going to “cut their noses” and maje us wait until summer?
We get to do it all again in a few months once this ssseason ends like a damp squib

Ladysmith.
You're at the match tonight?
Obviously have your phone with you as have posted that you're in a boozer tonight with a dozen WH fans.
As I'm not there, would love to see a photo of the atmosphere amongst the WH fans, in the ground.
Care to post?

Even Disasi turned Spurs down.
Humiliating.

Tel to Spurs is happening.
Another really strong signing unfortunately. They'll fly up the league now.
You're an admin fella, and appear to know this cսnt's nothing more than a troll.
Yet, you still allow him/her/them/it to post.
For fucks sake, the wankers making this site look like a free-for-all for any supporter of any other team to post on.
Slightly ammusing to begin with, irritating/annoying now, especially the WHOmails from their alter-ego.
If nothing else, remove the fucktards ability to WHOmail and let them make a cսnt of themselves on the main site.

Spurs get the services of a £60m striker.
Whilst we get knocked back for trying to buy a £600k striker from Celtic and we aquire an overweight Brighton player who is surplus to requirements!

....If Ferguson stays fit I'd rather him over Tel.
Both young and had previous good seasons but struggled and not been starters this season, but Ferguson has prem experience and is a typical British centre forward so for me is a better bet.

Well he rejected Spurs wanting Man U who's offer was rejected. Now he's happy to join Spurs.
Sounds very plausible to me.

Sky are spinning Tel to Spurs as Ange convinced him to sign which sounds like bollocks as he was saying after the Brentford game finished that he had no idea about signings because his phone was off during the game.
Then Tel rejected them apparently wanting Man U who then didn't offer Bayern the deal they wanted and rejected the Man U bid.
So it sounds like he chose Spurs because there were no other options except staying which he didn't want to do.
Some real mental gymnastics there to try and downplay a top, top signing by Spurs.
Look, I dislike them too but they have had a great window.

They'll just revert back the their thinking that he's a £100m striker, which puts him well of our price bracket.
We're not going to be relegated this season so it's not like we have to panic to get someone in.
Still, if we were a well ran club then we would have had a striker on the 1st of Jan.
Very true, but there's also a lot to be said about finishing a season well and taking the momentum into the next one, I'd take that

I like the idea of signing Ferguson, but I'm not too much of a fan of the deal though.
I don't see much point in getting him fit and possibly on form for Brighton to then have him back.
I don't mind if he gets on form and helps us climb the league.. I'll be well pleased with it..
Just hope his ankles can cope

Brighton appear to be all at sea at the moment, so unless they turn it around it's quite possible, if he sparks up here, he may not fancy going back, anyway.

I dont mind the Ferguson loan, worried about his ability to keep fit but if he does will be a better option than Ings and gives us some depth up front.
If he bangs them in he will most likely fire us up the league and if he does go back to Brighton......then a higher finishing position will make us more attractive to potential forward options and they will see that Potter can get a tune out of a decent centre forward.
