Sit down.

Some stories going around on Hammers News etc that the club is going to start enforcing the no standing rule across the whole stadium.

To be believed? Are fans going to comply if they do?

Have the unofficial standing sections spread out more beyond the corners now ?

I sometimes pick up a ticket in the TBL which is great but recall earlier in the season being just in the wing from the corner flag and it was a mixture of standing and seating.

I much prefer to stand this weather to move about a bit and stop the toes freezing up.

I remember they tried this bollocks in the TBL, Ended up being a miserable experience with endless scraps with stewards. I got sick of it after a couple of months and sacked my ST off.

A lot of fuss about nothing. Can't say I've seen the video but it is described as being effective. Hahaha. Sounds like they are happy enough with the stadium seating being "under control". It's all talk.

They'd have to ask us repeatedly in person first. Or at the very least they'd have to write to everyone like they did at UP.

I can't see how they'd enforce it at all. Maybe in the upper bowl where most people sit and it would be individuals or a group of individuals and as such easy to 'control', but behind either of the goals, forget about it. What are they going to do? Ban the entire Bobby Moore lower at once just to send a message? Don't think so.

A safe standing area gives you room to take the KNEE before kick off

after the game you can superglue yourself to the RAIL for JSO
.

Wasn't Gold "looking into" a safe standing area some years back? no prizes for guessing what what would happen with that at the time.

The Board made it known exactly what they thought of standing and their approach to the creation of an atmosphere, when they wasted no time in getting heavy handed with the section of the East Stand next to the away end at the Boleyn, shortly after taking over.

Then there was the reduction in the taking up of away allocations, with Sullivan pretty much questioning the point of away support at all.

It's almost as if the fans are an inconvenience.

I doubt the owners are this fucking daft, good luck if so. As said below it ain't great if you don't want to stand up but have to if you want to see the game. My first time there in December in block 111 west stand had some fans standing up which didn't seem to bother people and it's just accepted, but then again I suppose it's taboo and uncool to tell some cսnt to sit down. We're West 'am, innit.

I went to a Birmingham home game a couple of months ago and tried out the safe standing area. It is definitely a good idea. The atmosphere was better than at most Premier League games. West Ham were looking into it but have decided it won’t be happening in the immediate future, but they will monitor guidance. I don’t know how much they can influence it either. Probably would have to pay to have the rails removed for other events and wouldn’t want to put their hands in their pockets.

I have mixed feelings about people standing in seated areas. It doesn’t seem to contribute much to the atmosphere most of the time, mainly because people have been bored with the football. Also, when you take a child they can’t see anything unless the stand on the seat. A separate area for people who want to stand is the answer.

Ladysmith wrote: 12 Feb 2025, 18:32 It's kind of related to the dilemma I have always had at the new ground.

I currently sit high up and it tends to be the people nearer the from that stand up so therefore it doesn't bother me.

The only problem with sitting high up is that it feels like I am 2 miles from the pitch, and for that reason I often thought about sitting at the front.

.....but then I don't want people standing up in front of me.

Ferret is correct again, it should only be behind the goals.

I hope you fall from the upper-tier.

Most people probably won’t pay any attention to the threats, but if they’re forced to by over enthusiastic stewards, it’ll end up as WWIII over there.

We were duped into going over there with lies, so time to wake up and tell the club and LLDC to fuck off.

If it's true, it won't be anything to do with the Club - same as at UP.

I can't see this happening... Nobody stands all the time where I am, but everyone gets up all the time. It would proper kick off.

They should be looking at installing safe standing behind the goals.

unworkable, unless the midget/tits mcgee want trouble again in the stands. no doubt another method of life bans and more tourist ticket sales
