The big difference is that in the US they have teams of writers all working together. We don't do that here as it's too expensive, though My Family was team written and ran for 11 series. If we adopted team writing here the quality would rise significantly.
As an aside, the comedic quality of Only Fools is incredible since all 64 episodes were all written by one man.
I forgot about Larry Sanders. Quite ground breaking .

Cheers was my favourite American sitcom. And norm was a great character. It was hugely popular among the west ham squad of the late 80s early 90s . Pick up a programme back then and they all seemed to be fans of it .

Also, americans don't worry about making sure that there is a black, disabled and gay character in every series all seen in a positive way.

Frasier, along with Curb is among the best comedy I've ever watched, the writing, particularly in Frasier was consistently superb. And yes, his ex wife Lileth was mustard.

I've recently rewatched all 11 series of Frasier. Some of it is comedy genius.

I have never watch an episode of this, Frasier or Seinfeld. Mrs V did bring me back a Cheers beer glass from Boston a few years ago if that counts.

I quite fancied the first bird behind the bar, not so much the second one.
I preferred Frazier's wife Lilith.

I've been to the Cheers Bar in Boston that looks like it from the outside but nithg like it inside and the bar nothing like it on the outside but like it on the inside. I think called The Whiskey Bar. This was back in I think '98.
I loved the Snipe episode.
