After deciding they’d rather pay a £5m penalty fee to Manchester United than fulfil their obligation to make Jadon Sancho’s loan deal permanent, Chelsea are in the market for a different winger who blows more hot than cold. Sancho is believed to be the subject of interest from a trio of clubs in Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad all believed to be interested in hosing him with money. With the future of Mykhailo Mudryk still shrouded in uncertainty after his provisional ban for allegedly testing positive for a banned substance, Enzo Maresca is expected to try to convince his employers to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. Elsewhere on the Chelsea radar, that lanky green blob you can see inching its way across the screen represents the Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who is believed to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge and with his fabled good touch for a big man would constitute a significant upgrade on Robert Sánchez and Filip Jörgensen.
In other goalkeeping news, the Mr 15% of Gianluigi Donnarumma says he is in talks about a new and improved deal for his client with Paris Saint-Germain, in what could be a ploy to drive up the price of the Italian amid rumours of interest from Manchester United and Napoli. “Many would like him, but only a few can afford him,” said Enzo Raiola. “He feels good in Paris, we’re at the European champion club, so we have no complaints. We are working on a renewal.” Donnarumma’s Southampton counterpart Aaron Ramsdale is in talks with West Ham, in a state of affairs that could result in him suffering the ignominy of being relegated from the Premier League for a fourth time with four different clubs.
Meanwhile in north London, that £51m Martín Zubimendi-to-Arsenal deal might not be as done as some Gunners were hoping, after the Spanish midfielder cast doubt over his future. “Of course there are options but it’s true that it seems like it’s going to be a different, long summer, and I don’t know how it will end,” he told Radio Nacional. Having achieved his ambition of winning a trophy with Tottenham, Son Heung-min could be leaving the club he has served so loyally for the past decade. No longer a first-team staple at Spurs and not as quick as he once was, the South Korea international is reported to be the subject of interest from various unspecified clubs in the Saudi Pro League, which could do with being lit up by his smile.
With Dean Huijsen gone to Real Madrid and Illia Zabarnyi (PSG) and Milos Kerkez (Liverpool) also looking likely to head for the Vitality Stadium exit, Bournemouth are in need of recruits to shore up a defence that is dropping bodies faster than John Wick. Bologna’s Colombian centre-back Jhon Lucumi is one man touted as a potential replacement for Huijsen, while the Rennes defender Adrien Truffert may be brought in to fill the Kerkez-shaped hole on the left side of the Cherries’ back four.
Talks between Manchester United and Brentford remain ongoing after Bryan Mbeumo was reported to have rejected overtures from Arsenal and Newcastle. Brentford are reported to be demanding £60m for the striker who scored 20 goals for the Bees last season, while Mbeumo is believed to be demanding more than £200,000 per week in wages, around four times the amount he currently trousers. Liverpool’s deal with Bayer Leverkusen to bring Florian Wirtz to Anfield for a record-breaking fee remains a work in progress, while Tijjani Reijnders is understood to be on the verge of swapping the red and black stripes of Milan for the light blue of Manchester City. The beancounters at The Etihad Stadium are expected to wrap up a deal for the Dutch midfielder in time for the Club World Cup.

West Ham express interest in signing Bournemouth winger Marcus Tavernier
West Ham United are in talks to sign Bournemouth winger Marcus Tavernier this summer as a potential replacement to Mohammed Kudus, according to Graeme Bailey.
The Hammer’s attack was poor in the recently concluded Premier League season. Most of the attacking players had below-par performances for most of the season, including former Ajax star Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana international netted just five goals and provided four assists, a significantly lower figure compared to his 18 goals and 10 assists in his first season at the club.
Kudus is now being tipped for a possible departure from the London Stadium, and Bailey now claims that the Hammers have indicated interest in Tavernier as a potential replacement for the 24-year-old.
The transfer experts report that West Ham have begun talks for the former Middlesbrough man as they look to get the deal over the line.
The East London club are making a ‘serious push’ to sign the Englishman, who is valued at £15m by Transfermarkt.
However, several clubs are set to battle West Ham for Tavernier’s signature, as Premier League side Newcastle United and Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are exploring a move for him, as per the report.
Replacement
Graham Potter is looking to bolster his attack next season after an underwhelming Premier League campaign where his side netted just 46 goals, the third-fewest of any club outside the relegation zone in the league last season.
On the left wing, Tavernier, who has been an instrumental part of Andoni Iraola’s impressive Bournemouth side, is being courted as a possible option to reinforce their attack.
This move is being premeditated by Kudus’ poor form this season. The Ghanaian has not been his usual blistering self, and his body language aligns with several reports of a possible departure from the club in the summer.
Tavernier wouldn’t just offer a budget-friendly solution, but also bring valuable experience and depth to bolster the team’s frontline ahead of a crucial 2025–26 campaign.
Still, completing the deal won’t be straightforward—Newcastle’s Champions League lure and Al-Ahli’s lucrative wage offer present serious competition to West Ham, so securing the 26-year-old ahead of both clubs won’t be easy.

Chelsea 'keen to sign £85m West Ham star' and have transfer clause in their favour
Chelsea are keen to bolster their forward ranks.
By Charlie Parker-Turner
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing West Ham star Mohammed Kudus. The Blues have stepped up their pursuit of a winger this week after Jadon Sancho returned to Manchester United following his loan spell at the club.
Enzo Maresca’s side were in the market for another option out wide regardless of Sancho’s situation, but the England international failing to reach an agreement with Chelsea to make his loan move permanent has prompted the club to swiftly move on to alternative options.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are interested in signing West Ham star Mohammed Kudus this summer. The 24-year-old scored five goals and assisted three in the Premier League last season, and his versatility could prove a key asset for Maresca.
Kudus can play on either wing, as a No. 10 and as a striker when required, and such versatility could prove key as Chelsea look to kick on and make an impact in the Champions League next season.
The Ghana international has a £85million release clause in his contract at West Ham which only Premier League sides are able to activate. However, the Blues cannot make their move yet. The ex-Ajax star’s clause is reportedly only active for the first 10 days of July, meaning Chelsea will be forced to sit on their hands and wait until after the Club World Cup before pouncing.
The conditions of the deal could be music to the ears of the higher powers at Stamford Bridge though given that any move for Kudus would not drag on into the latter stages of the transfer window, meaning he can be integrated as soon as possible. It will also allow the club to focus on alternative targets in other departments further down the line.
Kudus isn’t the only name on Chelsea’s attacking shortlist of targets. The European Conference League winners are keen admirers of Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens and are expected to lodge their opening bid for the Englishman later this week.
The Blues are also interested in Brighton forward Joao Pedro, who is being eyed by Newcastle, Arsenal and a host of clubs elsewhere in Europe, and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike – who has also been shortlisted as a top target by Liverpool.
