Good stuff.

It's a cսnt of a disease for sure, there is no cure, the drugs can cause you more problems with the side-effects. You get desperate and will try anything procedure wise, you tend to shut yourself away because of the depression, still, it is what it is, you do your best to be positive but it's hard. It's horrible for the sufferer and it's horrible to watch as well. I'm really sorry that it's got hold of you as well. It's mad how it manifests differently from person to person. You think it's just the classic shaking, but oh no. Most people don't even get that? So many (upon learning about it) other things as well, hallucinations, night terrors, all sorts of different physical and mental things which profoundly affect people. Sometimes dementia linked to it (which my mum has)
It feels like everyone knows it as a condition but it's so so difficult to understand, and because it's not overtly lethal like cancer or MND for example despite being chronic and degenerative, it's not really deemed 'really serious'. It's underestimated. It is nice however that there are a lot of groups and organisations out there that can help a bit or at least make a tiny positive difference at times.
I'm dreadfully sorry you're going through it. Wish there were something profound or enlightening I could say. I wish the best for you and your family. It's just so hard on everyone.I really don't believe I go through much, I look at fellow Parky sufferers and think 'fuck that', some of their conditions are horrendous and so debilitating. Strange I almost feel blessed that everyone's condition is different, thankfully I'm a lot better than most.

OK_Guy wrote: ↑05 Jun 2025, 14:27He's had DBS-Surgery (Deep Brain Simulation), horrible procedure that is meant to help alleviate tremors. It's a brain-op where they insert wires into your brain (you're awake during this part of the op') and then connect them to an electro-magnet under your collar-bone, you get a clicker which turns the tremors off/on
