Favorite West Ham memory

If you could re-live one game/ memory again which one would it be?

West Ham beating Fulham in the 1975 FA Cup final had a big impact on an 8 year old boy at the time.

The 3-3 draw against Spurs with Lanzini’s wonder goal ranks up there for me too.

favorite memory is Frank Lampards diving header to take us to the cup final. What a moment! We all went mental!

That was a strange game.
CFC actually had the better of it...which made it all the sweeter.😁
Dev ?...what can you say...my favourite WHU player.

It's strange looking back , to us tight shorts and bogs for pitches were normal.

Before the match after the drubbing we got from Tblisi they read out a message from the Tblisi players thanking the West Ham fans for their sportsmanship, and the standing ovation they were given. That made me very proud.

A young Brighton player waltzed past 4 of our players including Bobby Moore to score. As it was a night game there were not many Brighton fans to cheer the goal but the applause from the home fans was loud and long. Would we get that kind of sportsmanship now?

Best moments:
1980 cup final
Frank Lampard's goal against Everton to take us to Wembley
7 - 0 v Leeds 1966
Last Game at Upton Park
Beating spurs 1 - 0 at the new stadium and fucking up their chances.
Lanzini's equaliser V the fourbees after being 3 - 0 down.
Declan's goal v Gent.
Bowen's winner v Prague absolute fucking scenes.

I should say, the FA cup finals, beating Fulham and Arsenal, but the moment and following trip home are like blurs to me (now).

I do recall on both occasions on the trip home blabbering with my neighbour who mentored me through supporting West Ham that I'd never, ever been in the presence of a happier man.

We stopped of at the White Horse in Chadwell Heath on the way home and he bought everybody in the pub a drink, both times.

Favourite though, naturally, under the lights.

Eintracht Frankfurt. Chicken Run in full, docker's voice.

You understood that, you understood the West Ham way.

Prague aside...That night can't be beaten ever for me..

oioi » 09 Jul 2025, 08:04A few posters, including myself, have mentioned the Monday night League Cup game when we beat Leeds 7-0. The Saturday before that game I was at Craven Cottage when we beat Fulham 6-1 and the Saturday after I was with the West Ham supporters who  invaded WHL and went wild when we scored the winner to beat spurs 4-3 away.

And the next game after that we beat Newcastle 3 - 0. 20 goals in 4 games.

My first ever game aged 13, having badgered my old Dad to get me to a match for the previous 5 years or so. Went on the coach from Gloucester and, after Trevor Francis opened the scoring, it was all West Ham. Clearly remember seeing the old chestnut "death to all away fans" sprayed on a wall outside the ground, and the fact that me Dad wore a tweed jacket, collar, tie and mac, with his trilby.

Still got the match programme, but it's folded and dog eared, so my son found another on EBay a few years ago and it's one of my most treasured possessions.
Good stuff

My favourite will be when I look back at when Sullivan and Brady are removed from the boardroom and placed in the stocks where we can all lob rotten fruit and cups of piss.
