Well that makes it all alright then, as long as they don't die..

the MET are also very particular about which crimes they attribute to carnival. Outside of an agreed area they dont attribute the crime to carnival.

I used to go all the time back in the 80's and early 90's when there were only about half a million people at best.
I never had a problem because the local Spanish community in Ladbroke Grove/Portobello were largely from Galicia so they always had their own stage/soundsystem and food stalls just under the canopy of the Westway. The local Caribbean lot were fine with us because we were friends and neighbours so if there were any wrong'uns who tried it on basically they would be dealt with pretty quickly!
It was fine but I avoid it like the plague these days...I mean 2 million odd people? Fuck that for a laugh...

People on here are really dumb. Lets look at the last few years crime stats;
So 2 million visit each year. So with 10m visitors there has been one fatal stabbing over those 5 carnivals. 53 non fatal.
I wonder hoe that compares to other carnivals and events all over the world.
Well that's fucking lies right there because there were 2 fatal stabbings at the carnival last year - Cher Maximen and Mussie Imnetu.
Anyone that believes the Met is a fucking lunatic.

I went once with Council Scum off here. Had a fantastic time. That said, there was a little mob of us, I can't be trusted on my own and left to my own devices I probably would have got myself stabbed to death.

Went several times, many years back. Good times, but trying to get out of the area was a nightmare.
Due to cost and crime, should now be an all ticket event in Hyde Park.

Used to enjoy Norman jays good times sound system back in the day when I was a younger man
That was just round the corner from Sancho Panza and we used to wonder round. The fella off of Hollioaks had the pub at the bottom of Middle Row and they all used to work behind bar on Carnival weekend.
If you avoided the main carnival and certain sound systems it was as close to early 90's raves as you could get post 2000.

The last time I went I spent all day at the Budweiser bus. That must be 25 years ago.

I've just moved to Talbot Road a couple of weeks ago. We are boarding up the front of the house with the neighbours and have a bloke in high vis sitting on a garden chair for 3 days.

There's got to be a point where it's cheaper to fly all the carnival participants back to their ROOTS and celebrate there for a few days rather than police & manage the whole weekend in London.
