It IS a complete dog's breakfast of an act which will protect absolutely no one.

The intentions are admirable but the implementation is the equivalent of trying to run an electric car on lumps of coal.

It's the IT equivalent of HS2: poorly defined requirements, inadequately researched problems/potential solutions and every "interested" party pulling it every which way.

The best that can be said of it is that it's the digital equivalent of putting jazz mags on the top shelf of a newsagent - and I'm sure, despite that restriction, every 100% straight person (on here, at least) saw a porno mag before they were legally entitled to.

But, hey! You just freely hand over all and any information you're asked for; I'm sure there a few hundred Nigerians waiting for Mr. Stupid to freely pass over the last bit of the jigsaw to complete their profile of him.

It's got fuck all to do with online safety and everything to do with mining data for AI to profile you.

Edit :  actually I take that back, there is an element of protecting someone's safety here. It's the government's, from you, because of the never ending shitcuntry they're balls deep in and in their arrogance they never dreamed they'd be held accountable for.

Couple that with some awful policies/decisions and they could be gone after 1 term. Must be some kind of record?

You're going to have to explain how those two remarks, twisted by you as they are, are in any way related or make any kind of point. Feel free to use symbols.
