In my opinion, the most underrated of root crops.

Discuss.

Blimey! Hopefully your old man was more pissed off with his siblings sending him a bill than with you!

Nice cooked with some white fish, balsamic vinegar and oregano.

Just wrap in foil and bung in oven for about 20 mins on low

Lovely.

I like it picked or in salad with black olives and a lemon and olive oil dressing. Otherwise it’s too sweet I find.

I myself would lose a lot more than the Pineapple ring. What she has in a burger would feed half of India for a week.
No mushrooms?

Is she really Australian?

I love it. I remember the first time i ate too much of it and a day or two after my shit was red I was relieved to find out this was normal and that I didn't have a serious illness.

I like it in a salad with walnuts. I forget I eat it. Then have a piss and panic. Gets me every time.

Over boiling seems to be a common feature of most 'mothers' of a certain time period.

We always used to joke that my mother would put the veg on for Christmas around November...

My mother always used to (over) boil parsnips for Sunday Lunch.

Some bint I was dating at the time said they should be roasted, like potatoes. Mentioned it to mother and she looked at me as if I'd just stepped off the first space ship from Mars, but she let me try roasting then one Sunday.

Whole family - especially Dad - decided that was the way parsnips would be served in Oxsaw Snr. Towers from that point on.
