As a 5 year old he scared the life out of me as General Zod in Superman 2. He just looked so intense in that film.
One of his more recent roles is very under-rated as it is a cameo of sorts when he played Terence Bundley in Yes Man with Jim Carrey. Absolute stunning performance.
"You're dead, Carl. You say "no" to life and therefore, you're not living. You make up excuses to the people around you and to yourself. You're stuck in the same dead-end job you've had for years. You don't have a girlfriend. You don't have anything close to a girlfriend. And you lost the love of your life because she couldn't be with someone who didn't live theirs. And on most nights you're so bored and filled with ennui, you can't even summon the enthusiasm necessary to masturbate. Am I right, Carl?"
RIP East End Boy.

As he was told at the beginning of The Hit.
We’ll meet again.
Don’t know where
Don’t know when.
But I know we’ll meet again some Sunny Day.
RIP

Given the first name of his most famous character, Terence Stamp has been franked would have worked better.
