my only time visiting puerto banus (golf trip), she was tanked up in that sinatras bar near the harbour. I can imagine she is bad news for someone trying to stay off the booze. clemence was also in there that night accompanied by a couple of weirdos
We used to go to PB every may for about eight years.in the late noughties stayed in the Vasari resort.
Sinatras was always full of B list celebs and footballers / managers.
I once saw Pards in there with some nice young ladies together with Roy Evans and John Gregory
That knob Jordan was always knocking about too.
We stopped going in the end as it was getting too seedy and full of hen and stag dos
More value for money elsewhere
Marbella old town was always lovely though and you used to be able to get a boat from Banus.

From a personal view, I loved him as a boxer, in some exciting fights and helped revive British boxing, from the times I met him, I found him a bit of a twat and a lot of people in the game had no time for him. But he seemed to get a new lust for life when he trained his son. But when his son didn't end up being the prospect he thought. He went backwards again and assume that's why he took a fight, to give him focus. But clearly it wasn't enough.
Dating Claire Sweeny couldn't have helped either... A real shame for him to go out like that.
And for all the people saying "if only he had someone to talk too.." he would have done, it just doesn't work like that when you are that low.Yes it's very true. I remember poor old Graham Thorpe as well. Lots of loving people around him who just couldn't help or help him to see there was anything to live for. It must be horrible to be that deep down in depression. I think it's impossible for any of us to understand what may be going on in the head of someone in such desperate times who sees no way out.
Very sad to see Ricky go the same way. Seemed like a top bloke, salt of the earth and what a boxer.

Roberto Duran: “My dear Ricky Hatton, it hurts me so much to hear of your passing. You were always a gentleman and a great person. I enjoyed all your fights and I remember like it was yesterday the day I picked you up at Panama airport and took you for walks everywhere. I keep those moments, with your friendship and with the honor of having called you a friend. To your loving family I send you my deepest condolences, I share with them this pain because Ricky was more than a great champion, he was a true brother. May God have you in his glory. Forever my champion. Hands of Stone.”Nice from one of my favourite fighter's "the Hands of stone"
