Subjective, I know but anyway:

Hurt - Johnny Cash - original - Nine Inch Nails
This Flight Tonight - Nazareth - original - Joni Mitchell
In My Life - Johnny Cash - original - The Beatles
The Price of Love - Bryan Ferry - original - The Everly Brothers

You fuckers?

Nice idea, although depending on the ages of the students, I would personally be prepared for some 'interesting' replacement lyrics!

I'd like to hear his dad take the piss out of it. It's awful whoever does it.

Not aware of that one - I'll need to sniff it out. Thanks.

Has Jeff Buckley's  "Hallelujah" raised it's pretty little head yet?

But it's not originally a Nirvana song is it ? 😊
The statement stands on its own merit.👍😉
This version of the riff precedes both.

Good point...very similar.

im going to get pelters for this but on No Parlez he  covered Love Will Tear Us Apart and its a cracker.

I saw him at Wembley Arena (not performing) earlier this year. He was walking very stiffly with a walking stick after an accident in 2024. Hopefully he'll be making a full recovery.
