International Break Yawn Fest

So here we are with another International Football yawn-fest.
What will you do for the next 14 days while meaningful football shuts down? In some ways two weeks downtime will be a nice break from the current West Ham circus.
When we get back...the next 5 games will likely define the whole season.

Internationals are the only times, these days, where we can see a team of nominal Englishmen playing. With the paucity of Brits represented in PL teams, and it’s going the same way in the Championship too, perhaps we should, instead of yawning, be keen to see “our” lads playing for our country.

QPR v Millwall
Not quite in the international break as such as it's on the 18th, but a good couple of days before the next West Ham game which I shall be boycotting anyway.
Qpr v Millwall- 12:30
Fulham v Arsenal - 5:30
I've always fancied seeing two games on one day but never done it.
.
You'll never make the station

Don't have a clue what games are on or if this is a WC qualifying break but just hope not many of our players have been called up including Bowen! Much happier if they are with Nuno and he has a couple of weeks to drill them in his style, and we come out of this break more competitive and win some football matches.

Oooh, like Phil Collins at Live Aid.
Yes, but will the losing manager at the Fulham v Arsenal game be blaming Gary for his band's fucking awful performance?

My 2nd team - Kerry FC - were thumped 6-1 in the semi final of the Irish cup. That they got to the semi is a huge achievement, but now I have nothing, nada, nil to take an interest in until the mighty hammers play Brentford. I'll spose I'll watch England and Ireland anyway zzz zzz

Just remembered the Makita cup in 1991 at Highbury. That must count too.

Went to Birmingham City v Lincoln cup match less than 24 hours after our defeat to Villa the evening before in January. Does that count?
Sounds good to me !

FA Cup 4th (and last) qualifying round this coming Saturday.
(the mighty) Tonbridge Angels v Chatham
We've only made the 1st round proper twice in the last 50 years - once during covid (lost to bradford 7-0) and last year (lost to Harborough Town 4-1)
Well up for this - should be a decent crowd.
You better hope we win on the pitch, otherwise we'll be winning off it.

Mrs Southbank has compiled a list of DIY jobs for the next ten days. Going to be so bored.
Do get to see the Jets in London. But right now that feels like being forced to watch a 24/7 loop of Gary Breen “highlights”.

This break has come at a good time of Nuno. It will give him a chance to assess players and get some extra training sessions in before the Brentford game.

Not be annoyed about West Ham.
Typically though the last couple of weekends have been busy and no opportunity to watch, now nothing on next weekend and no plans. Might even go outside if it's not raining.
