RIP Gilson Lavis, Drummer for Squeeze, 74.

Rotten year for drummers, following Rick Buckler (the Jam), and Clem Burke (Blondie)
.

Sunlight on the lino, woke me with a shake, I looked around to find her, but she'd gone

Apparently Gilson was a right handful, especially after a beer. The engine room of one of the greatest bands ever. RIP

RIP big man
That is probably my favourite lyric of theirs. RIP a great band.
My lyric of all time, the people I think of from that ilk are all  long gone

Always saw Squeeze as a band that appealed to the working class because their lyrics were something most of us could identify with.
'Some fantastic place' isvsheer poetry.

RIP.

The lyrics of Squeeze sum up life in the late 70’s

‘the devil came and took me from bar to street to bookie’

RIP big man

I also didn't know Clem Burke had died. Love the the drum roll intro to Denis Denis.

Not a big Squeeze fan. A bit wishy washy for me however RIP Gilson and Clem.
