If we go down: Who Stays, Who Goes?

Assuming out of contract players would leave:
Rodriguez, Wilson, Irving....
...and so would Paqueta who has already been clear this is his last season,
...and that players on loan we manage to find more loans for them abroad (Fullkrug, Alvarez, Cornet) if not sales
...and assuming the youth team players/academy graduates all stay if we want them to:
Orford, Marshall, Earthy, Scarles, Casey, Fearon, Potts, Myers, Herrick, Kante
Who of the senior first team squad do you think would remain at the Club and not be part of a fire sale (or put another way, we'd be unable to shift).
For me:
Areola - not good enough to go elsewhere, likes London
Guilherme - if we don't sell him in January, expect we'd see if he could produce a league down
JWP - no one in the PL has shown any interest until now even on loan. At half wages and a league down maybe he serves a purpose.
Mavropanos - would be clear first choice which might appeal more than being a bench player elsewhere
KWP - a year older and less attractive, not on huge money....could see him staying around
Hermansen...he's not got any more attractive...we'd probably take a few beans, but who is coming in for him?
A few others would depend on how hard ball we play over their values:
Magassa...not in colossal wages, young, not an international
Summerville...huge end product in the Championship last time was there. Could be the difference in bouncing straight back
So that means the following in the firesale:
Diouf, Kilman, Todibo, AWB, Fernandes, Bowen, Fullkrug, Soucek (and I assume Alvarez).

If only Magassa and Fernandes would stay but Napoli want Magassa or did and he for me is going to be a very good PL level player. Typical West Ham again we lose the possible nucleus for a young, athletic West Ham squad.

Why no Paqueta on this list.
Off all the players he's the one that should stay.
We've carried him for 2.5yrs.
He can score the winning penalty in the play off final against Sheff Utd only for him to admit his guilt of all the betting scandals and we be relegated to National League.
Two reasons.
1. The poll only lets you have 16 options
2. He's already said he's off end of this season

Last time we went down it wasn't just the likes of Noble and Tomkins who stayed - highly paid internationals like Cole, Green and Faubert remained, as well as players who'd yet to fulfil their potential like Reid.
Suspect we can sell enough players, and raise enough money, to hold at over half the first XI - after all, who's going to take most of them if we continue to get results as bad as the ones so far, and especially at the prices we'd want?
It's easy to see someone like Wan-Bissaka back at Palace, it ain't so easy to see Diouf being top of anyone's list -all the Fulham's, Palace's and Brentford's of the league have those type of players.
The general sort of comment you see on other club's boards tends to be "Bowen's excellent, but the rest of them....."

The highest paid player in the championship is Harry Winks, on 90K per week.
I don't know if our players have relegation clauses;
I suppose the big names will be off anyway.

The title says who will stay, not who do people want to stay. Personally I feel Magassa, Fernandes, Paqueta, AWB, Wilson, Rodrigues, Bowen, Todibo, Areola, Diouf will all be gone if we go down.
Shifting the likes of JWP (though I'm not sure how long is left on his contract) and Kilman will be difficult because of their high wages, which even cut in half because of relegation clauses will still be £50k pw.

Depending on the wages they are paid, and some with their international careers on the line, more than half of those would go. If we go down, we wont be coming back for a long time. In my lifetime, I cannot remember an ambitious owner( s) we have nearly always sold our best players. The move from Upton Park for this dross is unforgivable; unfortunately, Sullivan has no shame

Bowen will go, we won't get nearly enough what he's worth to us, but it'll still be good money and may save us from being really in the shit.
I don't think money has ever really been the problem for the club. It wouldn't make a difference if we were paid 3 times what he is worth. There is already an instructive precedent on how we would spend large cash injections into the club, it would get squandered again.
The decline will continue until Sullivan goes and someone who knows how to run a football club takes control. Money won't save us.
It hasn't been a problem, because we've been more or less guaranteed Prem football for a long time. We'll get the parachute payments, but we've got a lot of players on massive dough, and have a -£100mil problem to solve before we think about any of that, and selling Bowen for big money would go a long way to helping with that was my point.
But your overall point is right, none of it solves the problem of the rat in charge. Any which way, we're fucked until he sells up.

I only want to keep the players that will be sold. Although hopefully Potts, Earthy and U21s will stay on

If we go down, I think we'll certainly offload/lose:
- Alvarez
- Guilherme
- Fulkrug
- Paqueta
- Todibo
- Wan-Bissaka
- Rodriguez
Reckon that should pull in north of £100m in fees.
After that, Bowen is the obvious one who many clubs will want but he'll be close to 30 and is on £150k+a week. I wonder if he'll be one we look to loan out for a year rather than lose permanently in the hope of getting back up at the first go?
After that I think the priority will be keeping most of the youngsters - not sure any of them have done enough to get a move yet - and some of the more experienced lads will still be kept - Wilson, KWP, JWP if Nuno goes.

Eerie, moat players have a clause that if we go down wages go down or they are allowed to leave.
Knowing our incompetent club they probably didnt consider it

The more I think about it, the worse it gets. We're living in fantasy land about who we think can go and who we might keep.
Areola is on over £100k a week, if we get any sort of offer for him, he's gone. We simply can't keep him on that sort of dough. Hopefully a Saudi club might pay us some proper dough for him.
Kilman won't be going anywhere, firstly, no one is going to be stupid enough to pay anything, and he's on a long term lucrative contact. So we'll have to stomach that.
JWP on half wages? Who's going to force him to take a wage cut?
Magassa looks good, so I'd think someone will buy him, and he won't want to stay. Fernandes will probably want to fuck off as well, but maybe he is one who might give us a season in the Champ?
Diouff will be gone to a club in Europe I'd imagine, same as Todibo, but what idiot would sign AWB? He's an appalling defender, again on massive dough, we might have to put up with his couldn't give a fuck attitude unless I'm playing against Man Utd for another year. Soucek will probably stay and be a first team starer in the Champ, could be a key player for us at that standard.
Bowen will go, we won't get nearly enough what he's worth to us, but it'll still be good money and may save us from being really in the shit.
The only thing that might save us is if we've got a load of them on relegation clauses, but I can't see it, as the rat running us clearly hasn't considered that we would go down.
What a mess.

I only voted for kwp and jwp
Because it said who WOULD stay, not who should.
Frankly none of them should. Kwp is getting on and jwp wont find another club to join unless saints cme backn n for him
Al the others will think they're bigger than they are and want out, and aside from the academy players they can ALL fuck off

Previous relegations one of the sad aspects has been the players we lost. This time around does anyone really care for any of our players other than Bowen?
