may have won a uk title, which was always ranked as one of the major tournaments. I'm sure that was his biggest win

He was one of those players that always seemed there abouts at the big, televised tournaments when snooker was drawing huge TV audiences but i can't recall him winning any of them? Came across as a real gentleman in the same vein as Ray Reardon.

Decent commentator and pundit on the game as well, will be missed, sad day for snooker.

RIP

Likewise. Not a bad player, decent commentator, another genuine character gone. RIP and all that.

Sort of bloke who would be fantastic to sit and have a drink with, I'd imagine. Full of great stories and an entertainer.

Bit irritating on commentary but a nice bloke and one of the few people left in snooker with some personality. R.I.P.

RIP

A character

He helped snooker cross over to a more mainstream TV audience in the eighties with his impersonations of other players.snd trick shots.

He also loved a bet and a bird which cost him a lot of his wealth but nonetheless seemed to be a happy go lucky guy who enjoyed life and got to make a living from a sport he loved.

I life well lived despite a somewhat premature ending.at 79.
