Re: US Politics Thread
Well yes. That is generally what happens when someone decides to set the Middle East on fire. Give it some time and we'll get a global recession as a bonus treat if they don't stop soon.. The Americans learn nothing from recent history and Natanyahu doesn't give a fuck. Vladimir Putin must be laughi...

They were negotiating in 1972 and were infiltered by MI5 later on which is subterfuge not force Whatever talks took place over the years, it is well known, they simply couldn't keep the fight going anymore and came cap in hand to the table. https://www.justiceforveterans.uk/p/the-ira-was-defeated...

Meanwhile the Dolphins are burning the house down. Waddle is gone as well now and we have signed a bunch of discarded bench warmers to minimum one year contracts in free agency.
Next season is going to be ugly.

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
Its my favourite album of theirs I grew up with the early band and supported them once in the mid 80s so that is my era. The effort they put into the spectacle for small gigs was above and beyond. Also played in a band with Bob Leith and he is a lovely human being as are they all apparently. We mad...

It was a bit of a cheat as I love Only Connect and remembered quite a few of them.
This was the connections round and I am good at the Wall and very good at the missing vowels round as pattern recognition is my thing. Weirdly I'm terrible at the sequences round.

The USA is not immune from oil price shocks as, despite being the worlds largest oil producer, it consumes more oil than it produces with Canada being the largest exporter the US.
I'd take what Trump says about petrol prices with a massive pinch of salt.

Iran is very different from its neighbours apart from the theocratic autocracy thing. The population is a huge, 90+ million, and very well educated as they have a large and very good university system. Acedemia is encouraged. It is also a very old civillisation indeed. A friend of mine at university...

OK, a relatively simple question, I think, is that now looking like a gigantic fuck up from the orange bloke? The great US cap in hand asking for help. FMOB. Which we should not give. This is Trump's fuck up and he should own it without endangering any other nation's armed forces. It is within his ...

Re: US Politics Thread
It's ALL EU red tape. The UK cannot remove it, only the EU can do that. They chose not to. That option was on the table as we could have kept standards aligned with the EU but the Tories decided not to. The issues of the extra burocracy and trade friction were pointed out repeatedly at the time but...

Re: US Politics Thread
The main thing stalling UK exports to the EU is EU red tape. The stuff we're exporting is exactly the same stuff that was accepted without question while we were in the EU, so it's fuck all to do with the quality of the exports. They drop the protectionist shit and UK exports to the EU will rise. O...
