The Japan boys were mates of mine in 78/79. I wasn’t keen on their music but they were lovely blokes. Had some good laughs.

That is superb.
The same band I was in supported It Bites as well.
Their one hit single was totally out of whack with the rest of their set as they were a full on prog/jazz/punk/metal mashup of a band. They were bloody good live too.
